November 12th is National Pizza With Everything (But No Anchovies) Day

Funny thing is I really like anchovies either on the pizza or other things. They can be a bit salty but are a Mediterranean staple.

When I was 12 my parents took our family to Italy and I remember once they ordered pizza and we were so dissapointed. At that time (mid 60's) about all we knew of pizza was Chef Boyardee and the pizza we had at the restaurant in Rome just wasn't the same.

Now a days, my wife and I mostly like vegetarian pizzas, some mushrooms, bell pepper and a bit of sweet onion. Once and awhile I like some good sweet Italian sausage instead.

What do you like?

Viva pizza with peperoni, mushrooms, and anchovies!

I'll wait for National Anchovy Day to celebrate pizza.

Had a Red Baron pizza for lunch today. It was a Supreme.

For me, a Little Caesar's Three Meat Treat (pepperoni, sausage, & bacon) is about as good as it gets, although, I do like the thin crust Meat Lover's pizza from the Hut.

Nov 12 is the day after my birthday so the perfect day to enjoy whatever I want, since I'm the same damned age now 'till next year. All hail to enjoyment.

It took a Merkin to make me understand that what Brits consider American pizza has about the same authenticity to smart Americans as the US version of fish n chips would to me.

Italian style can't be bettered imho.
But I'm an inverted snob becos Mum was taught how to make it Italian style by the poor hospital cleaners she worked with. NOT because Italy is spitting distance and I've eaten awesome pizza there.
Hahaha.
