I KNOW! And Cocoa Puffs used to be hollow: you could bite them in half and use the halves as little cups and fill them with milk. Now they're like Cheeto consistency.

Don't even get me started on Lucky Charms!

Captain Crunch and Brie.

Yes, I am totally fucking serious, try it sometime. You can crush the captain crunch and use it as a crumb coating on top of the brie, or dip the little cereal pieces in like crackers, either way.

Yes, Brie is a French cheese, comes in a big flat wheel, so that slices are little pie shapes. It's soft in the middle (the riper, the softer) although the rind and the top and bottom (I'm sure there are official words for it) are harder.

We have at at Christmas - Mum likes it. Dad and I tuck into the Stilton, we like cheese that can walk off the plate, rather than oozing off it.

I can probably think of more grim things to coat an oozy French cheese in than a sugary breakfast cereal. Not many though.

That's what I said. Right up until I was drunk enough that my friend who had been raving about it tricked me into eating it. People put all sorts of sweet fruits and sauces with brie, so it does make sense on a very basic flavor level...

I'm gonna try it next time I go to Wegman's (the only store around that carries goat brie).

I saw on food tv the other night, a restaurant that serves french toast with a Capn' Crunch coating. I told the kids about it and they weren't impressed.... maybe the brie will go over better....

Wegman's! My ex and I visited his sister in Rochester NY some years ago (like almost 20?) and got the Wegman's experience. Even in this day and age with all the Wally Worlds and Targets et al I have never seen such an amazing variety of foodstuffs, with the exception of Jungle Jim's. Wegman's rocks!

My apologies. I wiki'd Cap'n Crunch to make sure I had the right mis-spelling, and it isn't what I thought it was. I thought it was a chocolate cereal like our Coco Pops (Cocoa Krispies). It sound less grim now. I'd still be wary though...

There is (or was) a peanut butter version. I wouldn't be surprised at a chocolate one.
