My Mom grows those and besides the spectacular look they smell great, unlike most striking roses which trade the smell for looks.

commercially, that's a stone cold fact. tragic, really, since there are some very pretty roses at the stores. But for my roses, they all smell nice, some are really really potent, and I sometimes get perfectly pretty blossoms like this. But mostly, my roses' scent is more reliably wonderful than the visual perfection of the blossoms.
