No grav, that's not why I thought it was funny.

Symbolism, not the actual part of the anatomy south of the navel.

If I gots to explain...neber mind.

There is no subtext. At least not in America.

Next you'll be telling us that there is something nasty in Mairzy Doats. Or the amount of wood chuckable by a woodchuck. Or Louie, Louie.
Don't even mention sitting under the apple tree with anyone else but me!

Yeah. Fraid it has far less innocent connotations over here :p

Now: do any of your charming nursery rhymes have a character called Coolie?

It is amazing what passed as good entertainment as recently as my childhood. Strange blindspots. My FiL is a huge jazz fan, great respect for black musicians but now and then he'll pull out a slab of vinyl like that and cause a giant quiet wtf? moment. I think we're getting better... sometimes.

Did it holler? Did you let it go?

I never heard the OTHER word in it until years after I'd heard "tiger."

I had totally forgotten about that. My laughter frightened my son, btw griff, thanks. Just spent five minutes explaining how recently in the scheme of things it was that stuff like this got cleaned up.

Didn't that song become 10 little Indians for a while? I wonder what it is now?
