August 12th, 2019 : Polar Bear Frolics
Dennis Fast is an excellent wildlife/nature photographer. He’s been at it a long time and written several books, children’s and
coffee table, that have sold very well. His latest batch to go viral on the net was the Churchill, Manitoba, Polar Bears frolicking in the Summer Fireweed. Fast said you can’t sneak up on them, they know you’re there, and it can take some time for them to determine you’re not a threat and act naturally. Quote:

Man, that is a LOT of fireweed. It grows around here, but never in dense fields like that.

Right, I've never seen expanses like that, but like the North Slope the area, it has no trees or many bushes to compete with. It's taller than most arctic vegetation as it doesn't have to survive the winter, just reproduce and wither... like people.
