London Attack
Interesting, informative and thoughtful interview about the police and the attack - from Fox, which surprised me.

Fox News has taken a lot of un-Fox-like positions since Roger Ailes is gone.

The seem to be repositioning as an actual news network. That is important if the right is to be taken seriously.

FOX then and FOX now can be illustrated by arrest pictures and court appearance pictures of someone.

In the olden days, like the early 2000s, Fox News was pretty much hard news during the day, only a tad more righty than CNN. The conservative talking point aspect of the channel switched on hard at night with Papa O'Reilly. But during the day it was reasonable. And you could get information there you couldn't find elsewhere. I think with "Fox and Friends" getting shallower (as shallow as can be, as morning television generally is) and more righty, the daytime news also went downhill... not sure about the timeframe though
In those years I used to watch cable news all the time, and when I thought Fox was being righty I would switch to CNN. When CNN was being lefty I would switch back to Fox. Many times I would find them giving the same story with a similar slant, and then I realized, oh it's really my brain doing a lot of this; if I look for a slant I can always find it. |

Its more what they don't cover than what they do. Yes, CNN has been nonstop "The sky is falling" since the election, but thats another issue.
