Drinks Party, Here, Tomorrow Night?

Sundae • Jun 22, 2007 4:02 pm
Really all I'm asking is how many people generally log on, on Saturday nights?
I don't usually cross-pollinate my posts, but in this case I have a limited time frame. Drink Experiment Suggestion Part II

For those who didn't see the original experiment, it's basically drinking and posting over a couple of hours, with complete honesty about how you feel. I tried not to let it affect my posts in the main Cellar, so it's not about starting drunken fights and trashing the place!

I've never been in the Cellar on a Saturday night (US time) and it would involve me staying up until the early hours of the morning. I'm not demanding to be entertained if I do come in, I'm just asking whether the general trend is one poster and four lurkers, or whether I'd get to meet some fellow drinkers.

Any information, or RSVPs to the experiment welcome.

I notice it's usually Friday night that forums are dead in the water, but I'm up for a party on Saturday. Especially if you are doing us Yanks the courtesy of staying up to coordinate time frames.

I usually don't like getting drunk, but I'll hoist a few. And, uh, I might partake of some alternatives so my posts could be appropriately silly.

-er.

I mean honest! ;)

hmm. I'm always honest though.

What time should I stop over, Cloud?
Sundae • Jun 22, 2007 4:17 pm

She has access at home.

Except she seems to have left us now :mecry:
Shawnee123 • Jun 22, 2007 4:22 pm

Cloud • Jun 22, 2007 4:22 pm

Sundae • Jun 22, 2007 4:42 pm
What time is it now and what time will you be here?
If I'm getting up in the middle of the night I'm making sure at least one person is here :)
Cloud • Jun 22, 2007 4:57 pm
Right now it's 3 in the afternoon. I am on Mountain Time. You should set the time, since it's most inconvenient for you. We can be on chat, too.
Sundae • Jun 22, 2007 5:04 pm
Hmmmm - 7 hours behind.

be sure to turn off the lights when you're done. you don't wanna run up UTs electric bill.

If you're planning to drink and chat SG, I'll plan to buy some beer tomorrow. IOW, count me in.

Would someone please post a UCT for the start of this soiree? And is it actually here in The Cellar, or on GabblyChat?

Obviously, my American-centric thinking made me miss the soiree, as I incorrectly sussed that it was tonight in my world that it would occur.

I propose that we set our own unifying time standard, Cellar Nonstandard Time (CNT), and that it be based on The Cellar's location, which is Eastern Standard Time US. That would make this post being posted at 12:25 PM on Saturday, June 23, 2007 Cellar Standard Time, for example.

When anyone wants a gathering, they should post the planned gathering time in Cellar Nonstandard Time.

Hmm, I still think it's tonight:

That should give us almost 6.5 hours to go -- I say 'us' as I'm not expecting any doorman to keep noobs out of the experiment. (?)

Oh, and I think CNT is actually quite a good idea (hell, it's my own time). Maybe SG or somebody will post the CNT start.

Based on SG's note, I think you have until 7pm CNT.
monster • Jun 23, 2007 6:41 pm
I started. 6:40 Eastern 11:40 BST
Sundae • Jun 23, 2007 6:51 pm
I'm here. I was working towards a 19.00 in Philly (CNT)
It's approx 23.54 here (British Sundae Time)

Am about to crack the first beer - late for me, too early for the rest perhaps.
You'll have some cataching up to do.

Just going to turn the light above this end of the shop off - it's a little lively outside and I keep thinking I'm totally exposed (I'm not, but it's distracting)
Uisge Beatha • Jun 23, 2007 6:54 pm
The Usige is here. 6:53 Eastern/ 11:53 BST

Anybody want a shot?

I tried to join you in chat, but I've never been able to get that to function at home, probably due to slow dial-up.
Aliantha • Jun 23, 2007 7:53 pm
Well it's sunday morning here. I expected the party to be in full swing! You all must be in chat huh?
Sundae • Jun 23, 2007 7:54 pm
