Nice job! Their eyes seem to be saying "Don't feel badly, I'd eat you without a moment's thought if I had the chance."
wolf • Jan 14, 2009 8:38 pm
Cool. I forgot it was time for that. I love watching the driving and pulling teams.

For shame, Jinx! Numbers 2, 3, 4, and 5 have such tiny combs, they are clearly underage. How could you post pictures of such young chicks on the net? Please, think of the eggs!

The Pennsylvania State Fair is the end of May. This is the Farm Show, held this time of year when the farmers aren't too busy to attend.

Nice pics Jinx. We had a lot of fowl language in the coop this morning... 7F.

Those are great J&J. When my oldest dau was in HS she took some classes in poultry judging and worked a few of those shows. There is a whole art to it.
glatt • Jan 15, 2009 10:33 am
Excellent portraits. It never would have occurred to me to take poultry portraits, but these came out really well. They work.

Eggcellent photos. I see someone already did the "cock" joke, so I'm too late.

I haven't been to the farm show in more than 10 years. I did go on a lunchtime run with a few people from the office for a hit and run godies run. I was the potato donut guy....
lumberjim • Jan 15, 2009 3:14 pm
my kids each had one of those.....

...and fried motz cubes

...and honey waffles with ice cream

...and maple sugar cotton candy

...and french fries

...and kettle corn

....and a sausage sandwich(the boy)
TheMercenary • Jan 15, 2009 3:19 pm
Hey Jim, none of Jinx's pics show up for me. Must be from a blocked host site.
lumberjim • Jan 15, 2009 3:25 pm

Take plenty of toast...
I mean pics.

I saw the Jr Swine, Jr Beef, and pony & horse pulling on PCN yesterday.
The "heavyweight" ponies pulled 9800 lbs, and the horses pulled 10,800 lbs plus the driver. Impressive, to say the least.

It's been known to happen. Actually, I hit it with my car...
Shawnee123 • Jan 13, 2010 4:49 pm
Seriously? Whoa...*shudders*

I am sorry about your chicken.
jinx • Jan 13, 2010 8:24 pm

We saw a black percheron today that was taller than jim at the withers. Duke (on left). Nothing for scale when they're in the cages unfortunately.
squirell nutkin • Jan 13, 2010 9:14 pm
Has Jim been at the withers again? You are a patient spouse.
TheMercenary • Jan 13, 2010 9:17 pm
those pics are fantastic! thanks.
lumberjim • Jan 13, 2010 9:53 pm
This gives a little bit of scale....I think the top of the cages were about 6'6".....but seriously...this fucking horse was SO huge. they are standing on the same floor jinx is at the end of the clip.....it's like standing next to an elephant or something. The funniest thing that happened was that the horse on the right, "King" had a semi going while the two of them were nuzzling.....and these two 50 yr old ladies that walked up were thunderstruck by the huge prehensile wang bouncing around underneath King. they couldnt look away... and they kept making flustered comments about the size of 'IT'.....it was TOO goddamn funny.

anyway....here's Duke.....and NO horse wang.

I wanted to bbq this guy... he wanted an extreme close up.
squirell nutkin • Jan 14, 2010 12:58 am

xoxoxoBruce • Jan 14, 2010 1:52 am
Great chick pics. :thumbsup::thumbsup:
