Jan 20, 2011: Maddest Yacht Ever

If you're starting a yacht design company, about the time Wall Street has sent the world into a tizzy, business would be slow. Of course the uber-rich still have plenty, so they would be the obvious target to sell a yacht design to. So design something that's the equivalent to a irresistibly cute kitten to them, something they hold near and dear.

How about Monaco...

Yeah that's the ticket, Monaco, bringing back warm and fuzzy thoughts of sunning with one of their mistresses, and expensive massages alway produce joyous endings.

While only at a design stage, The Streets of Monaco would likely exceed the £665 million price-tag rumoured to be paid by Roman Abramovich for his ‘Eclipse’ yacht to become the world’s most expensive personal boat.
It would be capable of housing 16 guests and 70 crew and would cost the opulent owner tens of millions to run each year.

Those Somalian pirates would love it.

They're far more likely to see it than I am.

Cheaper, faster and more to my taste : WallyPower 118

Still costing around 25 000 000 € (over 33 500 000 $)

How do you find things like that? I thought it was much smaller until I saw this picture:

I had to do a technical translation in French for a friend who works in insurance. It was about the "Magic Carpet ²" built by Wally Shipyards.

At that time the 118 was only a project but I followed the evolution with a lot of interest.

Its very futuristic look was a nice addition in the movie "The Island". Unfortunately, they didn't show it under full power.

Not rich enough, but as I live by the sea I have an interest for eveything that goes over water.

Not Jesus per se, but his shoes... why not?

Wally looks like an F-117 crash landed on a Chriscraft.
