I really hadn’t done much with long exposure photography, but really had success with shooting at or after Blue Hour, when the lack of light forced me to use long exposure… I especially love all the bridges in NYC and I decided to capture the massive skyline by using my fisheye lens.

Since I centered the horizon (take that rule of thirds), there is minimal distortion to the skyline itself, but I was able to capture an ultra wide angle shot! The reflections were just an added bonus! This took me a couple tries because barges and the sky-train kept moving into my scene creating unwanted light trails…

Nice. Interesting to me since I'd 'guess' the fisheye would've curved all those reflections - but didn't.

Sittin' here in traffic
On the Queensboro bridge tonight
I don't care 'cause all I want to do
Is cash my check and drive right home to you

'Cause baby all my life I will be drivin' home to you
