Undertoad Friday Jul 27 08:12 AMJuly 27, 2007: Tallest and smallest horse
The Mail does it again, great source of IotD...
The smallest horse in the world is Thumbelina; IotD catalogued her last year. Now the tallest horse, named Radar, has been pictured with the little one for a photo layout for the Guinness Book.
Quote:
Thumbelina, who weighs 4st 9lb (65 lbs), was born on a farm in St Louis, Missouri.
Her owners breed miniature horses but Thumbelina is a further quirk of nature - a miniature of a miniature.
She eats two cups of grain and a handful of hay each day.
Radar, at 6ft 71/2in from hoof to shoulder, is from Mount Pleasant, Texas.
At 2,400lb, he has a giant appetite to match, putting away 20 gallons of water a day and 18lb of grain.

Uisge Beatha Friday Jul 27 08:32 AMWow! I know Radar wanted to do something more with his tattoo, but I think he went overboard - he looks like a horse now.
Uisge Beatha Friday Jul 27 08:45 AMOK, next I want to see a Monkey on Thumbelina on a Goat on a Platform on Radar. Oh, and just what does Billy-Bob Barty think he's gonna do if Radar wants to wander off?
piercehawkeye45 Friday Jul 27 09:03 AMThe little kid there surprises me the most. One twist of the head and he will go flying.

Regardless of whether it is a kid, midget, or a full grown adult, who ever is holding those reins could go in on twist of the head. That horse is huge.
barefoot serpent Friday Jul 27 01:34 PMThe Cellar will never be satisfied until the Worlds Tallest Man mounts Radar (*ahem*) and the Worlds Smallest Man rides Thumbelina.

Ah, leave it to one of the fine Philly folk.
xoxoxoBruce Friday Jul 27 07:57 PMI don't know, I think it would be 30 lbs even after an enema.
wolf Saturday Jul 28 01:58 AMYou have to allow for the organ meats. They're for hot dogs, not cheesesteaks.
SPUCK Saturday Jul 28 05:54 AMProlly be real bow legged like, after ri'den that there pony for a while.
Aliantha Saturday Jul 28 06:01 AMDid anyone else notice the crazy horse-like structure at the top left side of the picture? It looks like it's about to take a bit out of Radars arse.

Hah! I never noticed it until you said that, but now I certainly agree. It reminds me of Pokey; I wonder where Gumby is?
