monster Thursday Aug 27 04:40 PMAugust 27th, 2020: Dragon Eye Pond
Attachment 71270
Dragon Eye Pond is a lake in Japan at the foot of Mount Hachimantai where the winter covering of snow and ice starts to melt in Late May/Early June, and as it does, this beauty is revealed. This photo was taken on June 8th this year.
I originally saw this story on the BBC earlier this summer, but didn't get around to sharing until now... Of course now I can't find that story, but I prefer this image from ECNS (the English Language stream from the China News Service) anyway.

nicknack Friday Aug 28 01:29 PMSo beautiful. Thank you for sharing! As is my usual M.O. when I come across a story like this, I will now jump onto the Google Map and search the globe until I find it for myself.
