That *was* the only question in your post, was it not, disregarding the sp notation, of course.

Shawnee123 12-04-2007 06:29 PM

Even if I do all the "internet options" delete thingys?

(I'm kidding, you know that, right?)

Never mind me, I don't get out much.

BigV 12-04-2007 06:38 PM

BigV 12-05-2007 09:45 AM

shina 12-05-2007 01:07 PM

Chocolate cake for a co-workers birthday. Definitely did not need that. I guess I'll be skipping lunch today.

BigV 12-05-2007 01:17 PM

Tink.

My dad woke me up unexpectedly and offered to take me out to my most FA-vorite flea market woooooooo! :)

jester 12-06-2007 11:14 AM

Our truck driver here at work. What a sweetheart. I forgot to get creamer for my coffee:( he told me he had a lot to do that he could not go and get me some (i didn't ask) just pouted. Anyway, I walked back into my office - made sure the coffee pot was still on and waited. He called and said he would bring some back in few secs.:)

Cicero 12-06-2007 11:36 AM

:santa:
"Santa" filled my stocking....with little things I like already...and he's going to fill it again on Christmas. What a sweetheart. Guys- it's the little things. We talked, and he said that I have been very good this year.

Bullitt 12-06-2007 01:26 PM

Mom drove down with some home made chicken noodle soup yesterday. Also making progress with previously mentioned new friend :D .

Sundae 12-06-2007 04:19 PM

Just got back into the Cellar after being locked out for over an hour.
Yay!

Am lying in my knickers on the bed and listening to the rain bucketing down on the skylight. I am warm, comfortable, online and feel safe.
My two mad cats are racketing about downstairs, I believe they are also safe and happy (and much as I love them - not requiring my attention)

Tomorrow I will do Water Workout and a gym session.
Sunday I plan to do a Subterranean London walk.

I am happy.
And that makes me happy.

Shawnee123 12-06-2007 05:01 PM

I'm happy SG is happy.

Oh, and just ordered room service. Food brought to you? Yes, happy!

And you get to expense it - that will taste good.

Shawnee123 12-06-2007 05:09 PM

:)

mmmmmm...expensive cheeseburger. (Hey, they would have freaked if I'd ordered the filet!)

BigV 12-13-2007 10:55 AM

Freezer freezing again. We won't need to buy a new one this year, yay!

HungLikeJesus 12-13-2007 11:05 AM

Today is our building holiday party.

The menu includes almond crusted salmon, apricot brandied roast pork loin, teriyaki marinated chicken breasts, barbecue flank steak, potatoes, fruit salad, dinner rolls and assorted desserts, plus beverages.

Next time I post my keyboard will be sticky.

Shawnee123 12-13-2007 11:07 AM

Mail me some of that salmon, will you?

We have our party tomorrow...go to one of my co-worker's house. Boss Boss buys beer. Hilarity ensues.

HungLikeJesus 12-13-2007 11:15 AM

Would you settle for fish bones and wish bones?

glatt 12-13-2007 11:17 AM

We had our department party last night, and our firm party is tomorrow. I'll skip the firm party and go home to trim the tree.

There's something vaguely Freudian about that last statement.

glatt 12-13-2007 11:38 AM

That's what she said.

HungLikeJesus 12-13-2007 01:27 PM

In addition to lots of good food, I just had a Coke, a piece of chocolate cake, and now I'm having a Dr. Pepper. So much for reducing sugar intake.

But I'm happy.

Sundae 12-13-2007 05:12 PM

I have had a wonderful three days (Monday 08.00 til Weds 21.00)
And I will focus on that.

Empty house Monday. I cleaned it top to bottom, felt fantastic.
Despite not flushing, the porcelain of the toilet is pure white and gleaming thanks to half an hour hard scrubbing.

HM finally accepted my apology for a disagreement we had Friday (I apologised Saturday so it was a relief)
Met friend from Leicester off the train on Tuesday and showed her London for two days. Had two lovely meals - Italian and Chinese buffet. She bought me a cool hat (look, she wanted to buy me BOOTS, I was lucky to barter her down to a £10 hat!) Lots of talk and laughs and friendship.

And we saw Crowded House on the last date of their tour (tickets booked back in Sept). At the Albert Hall, which has the most incredible acoustics - Neil talked to us without mike to prove it although I knew having sung there. It's also a great place for flight, so he encouraged those in the gods to make paper aeroplanes and there were some spectacular flights.

They were fantastic. Of course. Made me laugh, cry, sing my heart out.
And afterwards I talked to two men who had originally been seated next to us (but had the wrong seats) who had followed them the whole leg of the European tour. And it was fun talking to real fans, but the real delight was afterwards Tezza saying my face really lit up when I talked to them - it seems I am healing after all.

AND all day Tues I had 1 pint and one glass of wine, despite more being offered and available.
And all day Weds I had 2 pints, see above.
I can control it in the right situation and with the right people.

And we walked for miles and Tez couldn't stop remarking on the improvement in my appearance, health and my happiness.

Lovely, lovely, lovely.

Oh AND (I have had such a lucky time!) I am going to get on a six week alcohol counselling course either 31 December or the week after (1st week of Jan, whatever date that is). So I will get to do it within my current signed off period and can give the Job Centre a specific date for me being ready, willing and able to seek work and attend all their workshops and course etc without having to get another sick-note.

Yay.

limey 12-13-2007 05:30 PM

I am happy that SG is happy - that is such a lovely few days you've had there, grrrrrl! And good news on the alcohol counselling course, too. :thumb:

Boy are my hands sticky.

I got the job Suckeerrrrs!!! Ha! Haaa! From layed off during Christmas to a new job on Monday in one week! Awesome. I am so stoked! Can I say stoked?

I'm still thinking of having my current boss visited by the Christmas ghosts, as I may not be little Timmy, or the little matchgirl... but that was bullshit!

This way I still get to be Shawnee's job hero? ;)

Thanks for the good vibes people!!! I'm irrational enough to believe that that could have had at least a fraction to do with such good luck!
:)

lookout123 12-14-2007 11:23 AM

A*W*E*S*O*M*E!!!

Chocolatl 12-14-2007 11:29 AM

Wooo! Great news, Cic! Good luck on Monday.

ZenGum 12-14-2007 11:34 AM

A new job in a week! Bloody brilliant!

:notworthy

Congratulations! and well done for not moping about in self-pity but leaping immediately into the fray.
Hip hip Hooray!
Hip hip Hooray!
Hip hip Hooray!

So.... whats the job? Better or worse than the previous?

Cloud 12-14-2007 11:39 AM

good for people feeling happy! Especially SG and Cicero!

Got my Christmas bonus today! Happy indeed.

Thanks everybody!! People have been so nice to me lately I'm not sure what's going on...(here and elsewhere).
:D

As my previous posts suggest I did mope and vent in the very worst way! Glad that was over quickly...

But I'm not sure what I'm headed into...No one ever does until they are in the thick of it...but the job sounds comparable to the circumstances I was hired under with my current job. Which was great. So I would say the same. Which is also good, because I thought that I was about to go down a slippery slope....phew!

The job is an office job, marketing, design, light financial, and assisting the owner. Small business assistant stuff. (For a small business it actually has an international appeal) Very complex position...You just do everything and hope it's enough..There is also an element of encouraging clients to buy a product (it's a high profile cafe, bakery, restaurant, art hub)...I'd be making more on my own just designing, which I hope to do at some point. But this helps me reach my goal. I know how much I need to save, and it's not much...so...the point...I will still be eating is the point! Really- that is the point.... So hey, it's comparable to the job I have now. But you never know until you are there and in the thick of it....It may be sour. Only time will tell! If it turns out sour I'll just move from there too.
:)
Anyhoo, all of this means I will be able to at least keep up a post count and not have to entirely discontinue the cellar. Suckers!! Thanks to the awesome people here and their encouragement!!
:D

jester 12-14-2007 01:15 PM

Congratulations Cic:D

It was Secret Santa related, so you all may know at a later date :D

Razzmatazz13 12-15-2007 10:35 AM

Family christmas party tonight! (More fun than it sounds) I'm heading out now to get myself an outfit for it :D

Sundae 12-15-2007 03:40 PM

My boys. Being mad and scrambling as usual. I call this game Mad Cat Scramble, oddly enough.

When Teri stayed earlier in the week they played Hannibal Over the Alps across her in the living room, bless them. She was in the living room because it's warmer than my room btw, not because I am a bad host. Elephant driving cats at 04.00 isn't ideal for the over 60s though.

Oh and I bought some frozen minced chicken for them - not suitable for human consumption, but WAY better than the flavoured, coloured, processed rubbish you can buy, where you can't tell the difference between tuna and lamb. They went mad for it. So at 60p for 3 meals worth I'll be buying that in the New Year - chicken, chicken & liver, beef, lamb, duck and fish available - they get the necessary bonemeal and is far cheaper than human grade meat. It's made for working dogs, but cat magazines recommend it for raw food fed cats too.

Oh and HM likes my hair the length it is. My first physical compliment from him since I had it cut. Which saves me £13.50 - am not out to please him exclusively, but he's my only input effectively.

Sundae 12-15-2007 05:37 PM

Just talked to Brianna for 10 minutes.
She is amazing and sounds as sexy as she posts.

I'll deal with the cost of the call when the bill comes through, but I'd like it to be a monthly occurrence.
I can't explain how amazed I am to put a (beautiful) voice to a name. I am SO happy.

monster 12-15-2007 06:00 PM

Good, for you, SG, I bet it made Brianna's day too :)

Invest in a calling card. Way cheaper per minute, and not on HM's phone bill. And prepaid so no bills to worry about.

Make sure (assuming you used HM's phone) that you tell him in advance of the bill arriving -if you haven't already- to avoid any potential unpleasantness. If you can give him a little cash in advance, do. Don't just wait until it arrives to deal with it. That's (probably) what helped get you in the mess you're trying to escape.

I'm only saying this because I care, honestly. If I didn't I just wouldn't bother. But hate me if you need to.

[/off topic comments from and interfering witch]

xoxoxoBruce 12-15-2007 11:32 PM

I agree with the witch. You owe HM the courtesy of as few surprises as possible.

classicman 12-16-2007 12:56 AM

Good for you and Brianna! I agree, HM will be very appreciative of your forthcomingness - that a word? - whatever. do it anyway - nothing to lose and lots to gain.

ZenGum 12-16-2007 08:51 AM

My neighbour made me happy a few moments ago.
I was putting out my garbage and took the lift to the ground floor. As I got out my neighbour got in to the lift (to go up) and we exchanged polite greetings. I presume he saw that I was carrying a bag of garbage, and thus deduced that I would be walking to the garbage area by the road and straight back.
Which was what I did, and just as I arrived at the elevator area the elevator arrived back at the ground floor - with no one in it. My neighbour must have taken the elevator up to his floor, and then as he got out, pressed the "1" button to send it back down for me, which on a cold night was extra appreciated.
:)
He's probably not reading this, but thanks, dude.
How super-thoughtful and considerate.

xoxoxoBruce 12-16-2007 03:25 PM

Maybe he sent the lift back down so when he opened his door the hostages wouldn't escape.

Had a letter in the post this morning, I have a tax rebate and I knew I was paying a lot in taxes this year, but went on meekly paying, as you do. Great joy at the amount until saw the crediting account: my mortgage. Can't access it but nevertheless next year I have a cushion, yeh. Merry Christmas y'all.
