I'm planning a trip to Tacoma at the end of July to meet my baby granddaughter, and I'm going to take my oldest granddaughter, who turned 10 with me. She's never been on a plane--it will be fun!

elSicomoro 06-21-2007 02:56 PM

April and I might have finalized our honeymoon plans--Seattle and Vancouver. Not set in stone yet, but one less thing to stress over.

LabRat 06-21-2007 03:10 PM

Yessssssssssss.

My wireless optical mouse just came today. Plugged it in, and whala. No more stupid touchpad. Ahhhh. Life is much better. Now, if someone would just show up in gabbly when i am there....

SteveDallas 06-21-2007 04:06 PM

Why would anybody want to do that?

Ibby 06-21-2007 07:24 PM

Yeah, I totally think I'm getting a teeny crush on one of the girls I went shopping with yesterday.

However, I'm not sure if thats a good thing or a bad thing, since theres a chance that Caro will still take me back... blech, I hate teen drama. With a passion.

kerosene 06-21-2007 08:50 PM

My boss announced that I am leaving to the company. Not many people seem to care, but I like it that way. No nosiness to mess with.

Oh yeah, and Dakota took us out for some delicious Chinese food for dinner.

As long as you're giving stuff away...can I have your body? :D

DanaC 06-22-2007 12:57 AM

I managed to get up at 6am this morning, for the first time in weeks. Kind of nice to have a little Cellar/coffee/walk the dog time before I need to be working. Less cool that it was mainly a product of 3am insomnia, but hey at least I got up instead of just lying there and eventually falling asleep 2 hours before I'm due in a meeting:P

@Shawnee, what are the unions like in Ohio?

Eh, not a union fan, for personal reasons. Sometimes I think it would be nice to go on strike, though. Sit out front under a tent, drink lemonade, bitch every now and then. That's the life!

I'm not using that either. But you are a brave man! Really, I don't want to ruin you for all the other women you'll meet in your life.

Only if it's a compliment. Then you're a knick-knack double whack pack.

Shawnee123 06-22-2007 09:56 AM

Changing user title! :)

Cloud 06-22-2007 10:03 AM

paddywack give the girl a bone!

rrrrrooooolling home!

Shawnee123 06-22-2007 10:05 AM

lol...something about that is kinky, Cloud.

HungLikeJesus 06-22-2007 10:06 AM

Shawnee -- I just noticed that I wrote 'wack' instead of 'whack.' According to Urban Dictionary, wack means:

Quote:

Something that just plain sucks, or isn't cool at all. Lame.
That's definitely not you.

Shawnee123 06-22-2007 10:10 AM

But here is the Urban Dictionary entry for whack:

1. whack

1. adjective; appalling in nature, unconventional.

2. verb; to strike one with the hand or fist.

3. verb; to assassinate.

1. yo, that's whack.

2. if your mother heard that she'd whack you upside the head.

3. you want we should whack a dog?

We'll just stay with wack, and know that I'm not lame. ;)

Oh, and it reminds me of Wacky Packs. Anyone here remember those? My brother and I had them stuck all over the place.

skysidhe 06-22-2007 10:43 AM

It's my weekend.

I should be typing out applications to better my future instead of amusing myself here.

Cloud 06-22-2007 11:53 AM

Captain Jack Sparrow.

SUCH a fantastic character! And you know it's all Mr. Depp. Amazing actor.

(not to mention always and forever droolworthy)

Cloud 06-22-2007 03:24 PM

THANK GOD I cleaned under my bed today (and put toys and assorted other things away), because the maintenance man's son is crawling all around playing with my cat.

Maybe someone ought to tell him it's not polite to peek under people's beds.

Shawnee123 06-22-2007 03:28 PM

Make him watch Trilogy of Terror. He'll never want to go near the undersideof a bed again.

Undertoad 06-22-2007 03:30 PM

S123, Stop Invading My Childhood.

Shawnee123 06-22-2007 03:32 PM

lol...after I saw that movie, I literally jumped across the floor to my bed. I was sure that little f***er was under there.

Flint 06-22-2007 03:34 PM

...stabbin' you in the feet with his little spear thingee...

Cloud 06-22-2007 03:35 PM

I never saw that. -- is it a movie?

My monsters were always in the closet.

Shawnee123 06-22-2007 03:48 PM

Oh god, it's a horror campy classic. The only one I really remember of the three stories is the voodoo doll guy. Oh, and I remember Karen Black was in all three of them.

Elspode 06-23-2007 11:02 AM

Caution: For those of you who love the incomparable Karen Black ABC Movie of the Week "Trilogy of Terror", there is a godawful remake of it making its slithery rounds on cable TV. Putrid, bland, crappy and a downright blasphemy, it is. The only thing notable about it is the fact that someone else loved the original enough to do a remake. Which is to say that they obviously loved it at least as much as I do.

I'm willing to take that risk. Pity to let such lovely assets go unused. At least you can't say that no one is interested.

Is that the one from the 70's that had the final story with the doll a lady got from someplace which came to life and terrorized her. If so it was scary as hell back then.

Booted my Linux computer up to install some Karaoke software and realized that I'd forgotten my password. I was all set to reinstall when I realized I could reset it instead.

busterb 07-01-2007 07:01 PM

Ex-wife called me yesterday, after about 10 years or so. No bad news for me.

Cloud 07-04-2007 10:32 AM

wow, called you out of the blue? strange.

I'm happy because I have a day off today. Woo! Not having to work always makes me happy.

Cicero 07-04-2007 10:39 AM

Stay At Home Mom

DanaC 07-04-2007 06:57 PM

I just got back from my friend's birthday eve. About fifteen of us hooked up at the Trades Club in Hebden to see some comedians and drink real ale.. Was very funny. Had a good laugh. After the comedians (who were showcasing their Edinburgh Fringe show) the dj played a cd with all Jan's fave tunes on it. That was pretty good fun, stuff from the late 70s early 80's mainly.

So I am very drunk on real ale (Daily Bread and Bishops Finger) and Jack Daniels. I danced, for which I have to be very drunk. Most importantly, the guy I like was there. Can't really slow dance to 'London Calling', but hey can't have everything right?

DucksNuts 07-04-2007 07:14 PM

You type very well for a drunk person Dana :p.

Things getting interesting 'tween you and Mr Hotpants?

piercehawkeye45 07-05-2007 09:13 PM

First night off of work in ten days.

bluecuracao 07-08-2007 10:21 PM

A firefly flew into my office this evening, first one I've seen in a long time. Just hovered around here and there, lighting up wherever it stopped. It seemed kind of impressed by one of my floor lamps for a few moments, then floated off...somewhere.

BigV 07-09-2007 06:27 PM

consolidated 9 gb of pictures from week long camping trip. Now to backup and distribute. then comes the viewing and culling.
