Well, maybe.

What I was getting at was Bri getting it from Jesus, and I mentioned Pike.

Pike was played by Jeffery Hunter, who played Jesus in "Jesus Christ Superstar".

DucksNuts 05-16-2009 03:29 AM

Soccer again....we are now 2 wins from 3 games...woo hoo.

Tman was best on ground today, 3 goals from him and he was everywhere when needed. We had no interchange today, so the little blighters were plum-tuckered at the end, but they just get better and better....and I guess I do too as coach.

Its just really a fun experience :D

Im also collating the results from all our teams and writing them up for the sports section of the paper. Team Captain/Coach/Journo ...weird.

DanaC 05-16-2009 03:42 AM

In that case....no I don;t get a supergeek badge...bah...

capnhowdy 05-16-2009 12:33 PM

no consolation prizes?

jinx 05-16-2009 05:25 PM

Winning $50 in the Preakness. Woot!

Chocolatl 05-17-2009 09:31 AM

Kitsune and I are teaching our dog Tiny her first trick. (She already knows "Sit.") When we say "Yoga!" she stretches. She's gotten it right a few times, now -- I'm looking forward to trying it again later today to see if she really knows it or if it was just dumb luck.

Downward Facing Dog?

ZenGum 05-17-2009 11:55 PM

Making me happy is the fact that the making-you-happy thread is now ahead of the upsetting-you thread in post count, as of RFN.

Yay the happy smilie things!

xoxoxoBruce 05-18-2009 12:00 AM

Yeah, but we've got so God damned many pissed-off-because threads it hardly counts.

ZenGum 05-18-2009 12:55 AM

It has been my experience that the fetch trick is more easily taught when tossing pork chops.

DanaC 05-22-2009 01:15 PM

I just sat my last exam and handed in my last assignment. yey!

Some stuff went a little awry as I approached the home stretch (silly errors born of tiredness) that have lost me some marks on one of my assignments (not completing the online turnitin submission properly. Didn;t actually go through so counts as 3 days late = 15 point deduction....but it's only 20% of the module mark. So...hopefully as long as I havent totally munched the exam, I should be ok :)

It's in the lap of the Gods now. Regardless of whether I get my 1st class grade or not...I. Have. Fucking. Finished. :)
Three fucking years. And my God this last one was a bitch.

*grins* so, having averaged one night's sleep in two for the last week and a half, i intend to sleep until I put down roots.

(and I know this is the happy thread...and I am happy...but I think I might just cry a little that Dad won't be at my Graduation ceremony.)

Clodfobble 05-22-2009 01:16 PM

Congrats, Dana!

DanaC 05-22-2009 01:17 PM

Good news about a good friend, who is doin good!

Crimson Ghost 05-23-2009 09:21 PM

Good going, Dana.

Clodfobble 05-23-2009 11:05 PM

1.) I went to a baby shower, and counter to my suspicions, it did not suck.
2.) I got a massage.
3.) I got my first pedicure ever (wouldn't have been my choice, but it was part of the spa gift certificate that got me a massage,) and discovered it's actually really nice. I didn't realize they do things like get rid of all your calluses and massage your feet while they're working. Plus, now my toenails are silvery-blue.
4.) Minifobette is officially weaned, which is great in and of itself, but it also means that I do not strictly have to be on her diet anymore. Mr. Clod went out and got me a big container of queso to celebrate. It was awesome.

Today was a good day.

lumberjim 05-23-2009 11:17 PM

tomorrow.....queso's revenge.

DanaC 05-24-2009 06:12 AM

I just had some soup and had a piece of bread with it:) That's the first solid food I've managed since Friday. I feel like I've eaten a banquet!

Tell me about it. And it's worth noting that I could only eat about 1/4 of the container before I felt far too full to go on. Back in the day (as in, anytime prior to the last 7-8 weeks) I could eat the whole thing. There's no going back unless I make a conscious effort to gorge myself.

Sundae 05-27-2009 04:22 AM

Going up to London today, the see a screening of the first two episodes of Psychoville, with a panel discussion afterwards (featuring the delectable Mr Shearsmiths).

Am also going to have my hair cut. Technically I can't afford it this week, but decided I'd manage. I'll have exactly £0.54 left! Poor hairdresser isn't getting a tip.

I'll run out of milk, but I can always get the 'rents to sub me - as long as they are buying groceries rather than giving me money they have no fear that they might be funding a relapse. Anyway, I know Mum has been looking at my untidy mop for weeks now with an exasperated air... She might not like it when I get back, but she will like the fact that I budgeted more of less correctly in order to get it done. She's rather sub me £1.66 than £15 after all.

Meeting my bro in London - although he lives in Aylesbury he commutes there for work. Which gives me a nice social aspect to the trip. I'm meeting him from work and walking over Westminster Bridge (Earth has not anything to show more fair/ Dull would he be of soul who could pass by/ A sight so touching in its majesty - I'll take pics!) and down the South Bank together. He has my Mum's punctuality gene the same way I do, so he'll understand why I have to be in my seat by 18.00 when the ticket says 18.15 :)

Shawnee123 05-27-2009 09:52 AM

So, the lady who took my old job quit. They contacted me to ask if I would be willing to sign on as a "consultant" until they get someone hired and trained and they get a little caught up.

I didn't want to do anything to jeopardize my job here, so I asked my boss, who asked her boss, who asked her boss...now it's all approved with our dept VP and human resources.

I start tonight.

The money will be really good, and consultant looks good on a resume if I ever need it.

I will just be a little tired. :)

monster 05-27-2009 11:45 AM

Bri's back.

Pie 05-27-2009 11:52 AM

Just heard a talk by D.C. school chancellor Michelle Rhee. She's certainly passionate about the subject, and doesn't mind breaking heads. I am happy to see someone willing to go toe-to-toe with the entrenched interests in our school system that are preventing some much-needed change.
