Have fun with the 'rents. Don't forget to show your dad his motivational poster!

(I was just particularly needy yesterday. It's all good.)

:)

Sundae 04-25-2008 08:17 AM

I might email it to Mum
I think she'll laugh.....!

I was just feeling guilty about not replying and making you feel unloved....

Shawnee123 04-25-2008 08:19 AM

You're the sweetest, that is true...but my neurotic tendencies are not your fault!

I hope you don't mind...I took your sneaky vodka pic to the bar the other night...just showed a few choice friends. They all loved it.

Sundae 04-25-2008 08:28 AM

I am SOOOOO famous!

I emailed Mum the two I posted here
If my Dad isn't at Amersham station tonight to pick me up I am holding you personally responsible

Shawnee123 04-25-2008 08:30 AM

Heeheee

Trilby 04-25-2008 08:38 AM

Shawnee123 04-25-2008 08:41 AM

The dead puppies got me too, Bri!

But be happy, because you being happy makes us happy. :)

Congradulations Cicero! wow put all that brain power to work would U!

Sundae 04-26-2008 03:20 AM

Almost too much to list

At my parents
Got my new laptop (not on it yet, they don't have wi-fi)
Full of bacon, eggs & toast from breakfast
All sparkly clean from my shower (can't use the one at home, it leaks, and I love me a shower)
Mia the cat was letting me rub her belly
Weighed myself & haven't put any weight on
Got up at 08.00 which means I get a good long Saturday

Lots!

Buffalo Bill 04-26-2008 03:30 AM

First golf game of the season in a couple of hours.
We've been waiting almost 6 month for that day.

Clodfobble 04-26-2008 10:03 AM

I've been cleared to drive again. No more cabin fever!!

Sundae 04-26-2008 02:18 PM

I'm at home and online - woohooo!

Sundae 04-26-2008 06:45 PM

... and am fascinated by my new webcam.
No idea how to use it in any useful way, but am captivated by my image on a slight time lapse.

In fact - vain as it is, horribly vain as it is - I find myself on camera quite addictive.

jinx 04-26-2008 06:51 PM

Take a webcam RNF pic! Do it now!

Sundae 04-26-2008 07:16 PM

Oh I am having such a fight with my laptop!
it's epic.

The photo was completely candid (smeared eye make-up and all) but there would have been time for professional air-brushing before I get the damned thing on here!

Teething problems. I still love it. Ahem

Fifth try.
I assure you I don't look half so damned complacent right now.

zippyt 04-26-2008 07:46 PM

Full size !!!!

zippyt 04-26-2008 07:49 PM

My Old Puter ( 5 plus years old )DIED !! power supply and mother board ,
I'll have to take a pic of the NEW PC ,
BIG FUCKING HD MONITER !!!!!

Sundae 04-26-2008 07:49 PM

1) I am actually the colour of the shoulder shown on the right of the pic - ie pale blue
2) I scare even myself
3) my heart can't cope with trying to do it again and my cats certainly can't bear all the swearing

btw I look like a man in that pic!

Elspode 04-26-2008 08:52 PM

Damn, SG...you are so smoldering hot. Is it painful to be so damn sexy?

Sundae 04-26-2008 08:59 PM

Els I do adore you, but I seriously question your judgement re that pic.
It was a genuine, one-shot RFN as requested by Jinx - the time lapse solely to do with me fighting Windows Vista.
But not something I would ever have promoted otherwise!

Ah well - for the record, am going to try the webcam for tonight while I sleep. Have a feeling it will be too dark.

Elspode 04-26-2008 09:24 PM

Okay. I'm happy. Verging on deliriously so. Even so, I have a slight mixed feeling. One of the things that is making me happy is also giving me pause today.

The main thrust of my day today has been loading out my eldest child's entire apartment (as those of you who have known me for awhile will recall, Stephen, my blood son, has lived in the studio barn apartment behind our house since we moved to the new place. He was the main reason we actually bought the house we did - because it had a place for him to live near us). Why did we do this? Because he has moved 60 miles South of KC to live with his fiancee, Julie.

Today, I dealt with my ex wife, my ex brother in law, my girlfriend, my son, his fiancee, my stepson's girlfriend, my son's friend Richard (a Tourette's sufferer), my wife's girlfriend, and my wife for the several hours it took us to load up the trailer and pickup my ex and her bro brought to the table. How was it? Almost painless...thanks for asking. So...I'm happy about how it worked out so far, but I have reservations about my kid being so far away from now on.

Everyone worked together with patience, love and mutual support. It was the least likely outcome imaginable given all the factors involved. The weather was perfect, the work flow was totally acceptable...even the dogs, who constantly got out of the house, stayed close by all day, not running off or being underfoot.

As soon as the moving caravan pulled out, my girlfriend decided that the beautiful redbud tree in our front yard needed a haircut, and so climbed right up in it and proceeded to strip all the dead branches out, throwing them to the ground so as Selene, K and myself picked them up and stacked them off to the side. Pretty impressive for 5' 2", 120# 48 year old, I thought. When that was done, L and I planted a rose bush that was gifted to our household.

The afternoon was still young, so L and I ran to the store and grabbed me a 12 pack of PBR, and then we came here to her place and planted four azalea bushes and a couple of bulbs in her front yard. Then, she dolled herself up, drove to my place and picked up my wife, and headed down to the new Sprint Center to see Barry Manilow with Selene. When they return, I'll stay over with L tonight.

L and I will awake early and drive to my partner Lane's house, where we will load up our PA and gear, and head out to do two 45 minute sets for a local neighborhood organization's annual Chalk Walk (Selene isn't attending, but I am rather blessed in that *both* of my women get incredibly turned on by watching me play and sing - no accounting for taste, I guess), including me running sound for two other acts, and having to haul all the gear back to Lane's (our practice site) afterwards. Then its home for our weekly extended family dinner with Selene and myself, K, her girlfriend, L, my girlfriend, Colin, my stepson and his girlfriend (who are in process of moving into Stephen's vacant barn apartment as I type, leaving their rooms empty for K to move into - she's starting chiropractic college in the Fall, BTW), and my eldest stepson Clifton.

Sorry to ramble on so much in a thread that is filled with simple statements of joy. I have a complex life, and a certain amount of verbosity when I talk about it. Summary? Life is beautiful right now.

Sundae 04-27-2008 04:58 AM

Elspode you never ramble. You explain your thoughts, moods and complex situations succinctly and I for one appreciate the insight into your life.

So glad that such a complex situation worked out well.

I'm happy because (laptop!) I contacted HM's bro via Skype last night and when I woke up this morning (laptop!) he was online and said good morning to me. Then he called my laptop (laptop!) and we chatted for about half an hour. He's my adopted little brother in way - I'm so comfortable with him. Always good to have another sibling, especially as this one is also an IT expert! Useful when you have a new laptop.

Oh I'm also happy with my laptop, did I mention that?

Buffalo Bill 04-27-2008 05:11 AM

Today, my daughter come back home for the summer. She's in school 100 miles from here. I missed her very much.
Whatever happen today, it will be a very good day.:D

Griff 04-27-2008 04:37 PM

Good for you BuffB!

sweetwater 04-27-2008 09:04 PM

Today the Spouse and I spent 4 hours tearing down a large ugly shed at our new (to us) house. Gloves, hammer, and pry bar are all I need to demolish anything, or die laughing while trying. Fun times. I'm starting to eyeball the neighbors' outbuildings now...

Shawnee123 04-28-2008 07:25 PM

After a 2 hour drive here, I am sitting in my hotel room, watching CABLE, drinking beer, and smoking cigarettes. I have to leave the balcony door open for the cigs because, well, it's still Ohio. Have federal training tomorrow at a nearby college, but tonight I am kicking back with no homeless guy and no cats. Hey, I love them (the cats) but still this is nice. Cable, I tell you, CABLE! :)

You hardly ever use your cable? Yeah, I read that on the ladies room wall. Duh duh DUH.

HungLikeJesus 04-29-2008 10:48 AM

Shawnee, you sure can clear a room.

I know! I should rent myself out: in-laws overstaying their welcome? Invite ME over. Pesky neighbors keep wandering into your yard? Give me a call! Guido's thugs won't stop casing your house? Give me 10 minutes to strike up a conversation with them and they'll be gone in 11.

Genius, really.

BigV 04-30-2008 10:26 AM

I found my knife.

Right where I left it.

Happy happy joy joy!

Wow, lots of happy in here while I was gone! That in itself makes me happy.

But these are what really made my day. Now, if I could only get ahold of the sender. . .

Sundae 04-30-2008 04:28 PM

Ooooooooh!
Flowers make me happy too.
Altohugh I have to buy my own!

Happy because I just cleaned out my Cellar in-box.
I usually like to keep it tidy, but I had PMs from last summer in there.
(I don't just delete them all as I have contact details in some)

Sundae 05-02-2008 07:24 AM

I'm definitely getting my corset tomorrow
I've been asked to work in the pub tonight so I'll have some more money for tomorrow night
It's already 13.30 and it's officially Friday afternoon

I am such a happy bunny

LabRat 05-02-2008 08:59 AM

Egads, thank goodness you got the blue one. New cars are awesome!!

Rain held off this morning, so I got a great run in outside for the first time in the am since last fall. 60 degress, a bit humid, and a touch of a breeze. Didn't see another soul though, which was very unusual. The birds were so loud. I pretended they were cheering me on. :D By the time I was out of the shower, it was raining.

Now, just 2.5 hours till Chipotle. :yum:

lookout123 05-02-2008 11:54 AM

Went and saw the new Harold and Kumar movie yesterday. I'm not into gross humor and don't smoke pot, so the fact that I find these movies funny is funny in and of itself.

Anyway, the movie is hilariously wrong. The main government agent is the single biggest idiotic cracker you'll ever see. The racist shit he puts out there is just so mindnumbingly wrong that you can't help but laugh and think "Yeah, I know an idiot like that!"

And there is a famous person impersonator in the movie that made tears pour out of my squinty laughing eyes.

DanaC 05-02-2008 04:38 PM

I got re-elected! *smiles*

Bad day overall for the party nationwide and locally, lot of council seats changed hands, lot of councils changed their lead party. Locally, we lost one seat (poor guy had been a councillor for 22 years) to the Lib Dems and lost one to the BNP.

I was fighting the BNP as my main opposition (though the conservatives made a better than usual showing) but we held them off *smiles* and I increased my majority from 77 votes ahead of the BNP (dangerously close) to about 250 votes :) Out of 18 contested seats in our borough, only mine and one other saw Labour increase our vote.

Cicero 05-02-2008 05:13 PM

Ohh!! Congraturations!!!!!
:D :thumb:

You didn't run under the socialist pig or pinko commie ticket?!?
:p

DanaC 05-02-2008 05:28 PM

Well....Labour is the left-wing party so in a sense yes:P

Sundae 05-02-2008 06:13 PM

Congrats Dana.
The only good news (politically speaking) I have heard today.

We voted for Ken in this borough, but it wasn't enough.

Happy thoughts, happy thoughts, happy thoughts...
Okay - I'm home from work, I have a beer, my cats are on the bed with me and I'm going to have a lovely long lie-in tomorrow in preparation for clubbing tomorrow night.

Sigh. Just wish I had Uncle Ken's re-election to celebrate.

monster 05-02-2008 08:11 PM

Awesome, Dana :)

limey 05-04-2008 01:09 PM

Well done Dana!

The rhythm of soles on pavement, lungs filled with the sweet smell of blooming crabapple trees, following the scent back to my childhood backyard.

I can see the light at the end of the tunnel on my overdue assignments! I have two research projects (a 2000 word and a 3000 word) for which I got an extension until friday....up until yesterday I had written approx. half of one and hadn't even started the research for the second. I have worked like a mad thing all yesterday and all today and now have one almost finished and the other half way complete. Thank god for online primary source collections, they made the research a damn sight easier!

Once these are both submitted, I have two weeks to revise for my only exam and then I am free from academia for a whole summer! Yey!
