I thought I lost my keys for forever yesterday. Spent 2 hours searching downtown where I had been hanging out. I wasn't so upset about the car key (although its my only copy), but my RSA token to get into secure networks for work, yeah not good to have lost that. Today, one of the shops called and they had found my keys! I don't know how the hell I missed finding them, or how I left them in the shop, but I don't care anymore. I'm just happy to have my RSA token and NOT have to pay for losing it. Oh and its nice to be able to drive my car. :)

lookout123 05-03-2009 10:36 PM

nope, no puke. just hours and hours of drunk fun followed by fantastic drunk sex. i loved my birthday weekend even though I was sick.

sweetwater 05-04-2009 09:59 AM

It's Monday! And that is making me happy because that means that it is only a few more days until Friday when we fly to Paris, France, for 10 days. It will be my first time there and I'm so ready to go.

Undertoad 05-04-2009 04:19 PM

New crepes restaurant in Phoenixville is awesome.

jinx 05-04-2009 06:13 PM

@LJ
That's gotta be the best video Pretenders ever made. I'd never even heard the song (pretenders fan I'm not) but maybe I am now.

Made me happy. Today.

BigV 05-05-2009 12:23 AM

my friends!!!!

Sundae 05-05-2009 10:08 AM

Briefly - I had an hour chasing up a possible tax refund (details in another thread).
It's not resolved yet, but I took action and feel I have now done all I can.

Actually, it's not making me happy, I feel sick with anxiety.
But I know it should, so I'm trying to fake it.

I did good anyway.

Clodfobble 05-05-2009 04:12 PM

That huge weed stalk growing in the back yard that I kept dreading having to go do something about... turns out it's a giant sunflower!

classicman 05-05-2009 04:34 PM

HA HA HA HA HA
We had one in the front a few years ago. (felt the same way)

Chocolatl 05-07-2009 04:25 AM

Leaving for a 4 night camping trip in the mountains of north Georgia today. Am taking Kitsune's old camera (and he has a shiny new one) so hopefully I will have lots of cool pictures to bring back next week.

Trilby 05-07-2009 04:35 AM

Is Georgia allowed to have a North?

:)

Have fun, choco!

capnhowdy 05-07-2009 07:31 AM

The south will rise again.

Hell no we ain't forgettin'.

Sundae 05-07-2009 08:49 AM

News on the tax refund front is getting betterer.
My ex-employer has a "copy" of the missing form - still not sure if this is the copy they were supposed to keep, or the copy I was supposed to get. Anyway, they've offered to send it on to the benefits office for me.

So the tax office in Wales will already have my letter, and the benefits office in Southampton will get my P45 in about a week (seriously, the internal post system there is byzantine in its complexity - they admit it).

So fingers crossed this two stroke approach will mean some £ by the end of the month.

Tiki 05-07-2009 07:40 PM

Train tickets.

Tiki 05-07-2009 07:43 PM

Also a tiny yellow chicken named Petroleum, and her (technically unrelated) sisters Puffy Baby, Fudge, and Cow.

zippyt 05-07-2009 10:18 PM

COLD Beer after cutting the grass,
Pork chops on the grill ,
an Attic fan and open windows .

Zippyt is EASILY Pleased :)

capnhowdy 05-08-2009 07:01 AM

I get a new sofa tomorrow. I won't have to keep throws on this one to cover the ugly places. And it's blue. I am truly a blue freak.

Sundae 05-08-2009 08:05 AM

Sun is shining, wind is really blowing. My kinda weather.

I'm off into town, then to acupuncture.
I hope to come back pretty chilled out :grinnylov:chill:

Tiki 05-08-2009 12:19 PM

I am happy because I thought my furnace was broke, but it was only turned off.

Undertoad 05-08-2009 12:33 PM

My heat pump was broken, leading to no AC. It turned out to be a bad wire. Easy fix for the heat pump guy, so it was not a big expense. Cool air blows on me right now. AC is the best invention ever.

Queen of the Ryche 05-08-2009 12:42 PM

No central AC, but the landlord has agreed to get me a screen door. Planted the garden, smell of cut grass and BBQ in the air - It's Spring!!!

Had a good run this morning before the day heated up, all my mouse stuff is caught up at work, just called in a takeout order for dinner, and I have a date tonight by our firepit with my husband.

Sundae 05-09-2009 01:23 PM

I have a new hair colour, a belly full of healthy dinner, and a cat on my lap.
Actually I could do without the cat, who is making me hunch over and get a sore back. But he is so warm, and so cosy.

I sold $160 worth of household clutter today, and then found 2 pairs of jeans (that fit!) I forgot I bought when I was searching for something to wear to brunch tomorrow. Score.

Bullitt 05-09-2009 10:56 PM

Graduated from my university today; BA History. Still have four classes to take over the summer and two in the fall, not enough to even be a full time student, but other than that I am done and done. Will be getting my diploma in the mail for Christmas. Hard to believe I transferred schools after freshman year, went through four different majors (integrated social studies, special/early childhood education[double major], then history), dealt with significant ADD issues, took a semester off to go do wildfire fighting, and still finished fairly near on time.

And the icing on the cake: as soon as i finish these last few classes, the parents are springing for laser eye surgery.. couldn't be more excited. I'm badly nearsighted, -6.00 in both eyes, so life without contacts or glasses is going to kick ass.

Undertoad 05-09-2009 10:57 PM

Well done sir!

I admire your major so much. If I had to do it over, history. Yes.

That or HVAC repair.

Pie 05-09-2009 11:05 PM

Way to go Bullitt! Congratulations!

BigV 05-09-2009 11:29 PM

WTG Bullitt!!

You have accomplished something that you will never regret and that will pay dividends your whole life long.

I salute you sir!

BigV 05-09-2009 11:30 PM

ty cap'n!

You're clever and kind in equally generous measures.

*tips cap*

DanaC 05-10-2009 04:06 AM

Well done Bullitt!

(oh and I don't think I said congrats to Choco did ? so...congrats!)

Aliantha 05-10-2009 04:20 AM

Good stuff Bullitt. :)

DucksNuts 05-10-2009 04:35 AM

YAY Bullitt....much congratz

Bullitt 05-10-2009 05:13 PM

Thanks all! My brother from Cincinnati got to come up for the weekend as well, which was cool since we don't see him much anymore.

jinx 05-11-2009 09:25 AM

Just got back from having the kid's portfolios evaluated - all requirements fulfilled. Yay. Another year under our collective belts.

Congrats to the graduates!

monster 05-11-2009 09:39 AM

Congrats. Does that mean that school stops now? Do you have a set number of hours/days you have to get in?

jinx 05-11-2009 09:45 AM

No, we can't stop yet, we do have to meet for the required number of days (or hours, but we do days (180)), but we can switch over to more of an 'unschooling' program. I make them keep up with math, even thru the summer, but we'll also just be playing outside, taking hikes, cooking etc... we've done everything that we need to document.

lumberjim 05-11-2009 09:52 AM

excellent! good job kiddos! and especially you, hunny!

classicman 05-11-2009 10:24 AM

congrats

Sundae 05-11-2009 01:41 PM

I've just reviewed the information which will be submitted in support of my Disabled Living Allowance application. It's taken 3.5 hours to get to this point. By the time we double check it, update the times and dates of my last appointments - which I have weekly - and got together the documentation it will be well over 4.

Still, the hard work is done. No more sessions focussing exclusively on what I can't do, on the negative effects of my needs, on what I need help with. Urgh - talk about negative reinforcement :greenface

Of course once it's sent off it takes up to 40 working days to be reviewed and an assessment made. Here's hoping it will have been worth it.

Chocolatl 05-11-2009 05:25 PM

Congrats Bullitt!

DanaC 05-11-2009 05:46 PM

Sundae, let me repeat my earlier warning: don't be put off if they knock you back 1st off. It's not unusual (in my borough) for a claim to be refused and then granted at 1st appeal. On the plus side the appeals are usually sorted out quite quickly.

DanaC 05-11-2009 05:55 PM

What's making me happy: I've managed to hit an average of 4 portions of fruit and veg a day *smiles* for about the last two weeks. The last 3 days I've managed at least 5 and probably pushed it up to 6 yesterday.

Made a lovely meal with roasted vegetables and mushrooms, stirred through pasta with spring onions, sweetcorn, creme fraiche and wholegrain mustard. Yesterday I did something similar and the day before I stir fried some veg, with a pasta sauce thingy and served with garlic bread. Have rediscovered tinned fruit. Easy to grab and surprisingly good at satisfying the munchies.

This is all making me happy, because I am starting to feel a little healthier. I seem to be getting on top of the eczema flare and fighting off the infection without going back onto anti-biotics. Some of that is no doubt the fact that stress levels aren't as bad as they'd been just after Dad died; but I'm pretty sure the healthier diet and resuming Pilau's countryside walks have both helped, along with getting a decent night's sleep 2 out of 3 nights (going to bed at 11pm and winding down with an audio book).

I have a hell of a lot more energy the last few days.

ZenGum 05-11-2009 07:56 PM

anything to do with having finished your thesis, by any chance?

DanaC 05-12-2009 04:43 AM

Somewhat, yes lol.
