How about this?

eta: oops.. still working on it.

Ok. got it.

First of all you need to have Google Desktop installed. I love this tool, but I'm a google fanboy so... what do I know. Once you *do* have google desktop installed, then you can download Countdown To Any.

Sundae 05-26-2011 01:02 PM

V, that's good of you.
But I want it on my eye-screen. So I can access it at any time of day or night.

What do you mean no-one has corneal implants yet?
I thought they came along with personal jet-packs and flying cars?

Oh.
Right.

Thanks for trying though.

Me again.

Sorry, I seem to be treating the Happy Thread as the Me, Me, Me Thread.
But the truth is, I have a LOT to be happy about these days.
That's good, right?
After the soap-opera drama of the past few years.

Anyway, this is a drawing of me by 5 year old Tennant*
Made completely independently.
It's actually really good. I mean in case you didn't notice.
He chose the foil because it is shiny and sparkly (I often wear sequins) and the red for my hair. And he pointed out to me, "You're always smiling."

See why I'm happy?
I'll stop the minutae of my life right now, promise.

*not his real name, and not Tiger.

@ luv your happiness Sundae you deserve it! :)

Just got home from visiting Suede. He had exploratory surgery to see if they could manipulate his colon. I was not optimistic but the stuff came out with no cutting to the intestines and he was glad to see me! I hope he can come home tomorrow. Poor guy! :)

This new splash of medieval type fantasy shows that have appeared in the tv lineups.

I am fuckin lovin Camelot! What an excellent retelling of the story.

In sheer desperation, faced with a week of no new Camelot (they're having a week out) I decided to give Game of Thrones a go. It's really good!

I get the impression that there's a shift now from magic and supernatural shennanigans in the real world, to magic in a magical setting. I'd forgotten how much I love a good sword and sorcery epic.

Camelot in particular has me excited. It's such a familiar story, and like most Brits the whole Arthurian legend is something I've grown up with. This is a story we've been telling ourselves, with a few notable gaps, for over a thousand years. I love the way each generation tells the story a little differently. And how they draw on earlier tellings too. There's something utterly delightful about watching a legend you know inside out. When the expected pieces are put into place, it's a little thrill. Oh! The sword in the stone! That's how they're doing it. Brilliant... Excalibur and the lady in the lake. Click. Another piece in place.

So yeah. Good telly is making me happy :p

That's a Vermont dish. Do thay serve that in Ohio too?

What's making me happy is that I saw another woodchuck today.

Plus a tiny bunny, who is off limits :(

85% of the garden is now fenced. (That figure while fairly accurate was none the less made up on the spot.)

Aliantha 05-30-2011 07:05 PM

footfootfoot 05-30-2011 10:45 PM

Ooo. The tiny bunny went to bunny camp.

My new theme song

Sundae 06-01-2011 05:56 PM

Be Careful What You Wish For...

Spoke to another Dwellar tonight.
I should be really happy.
But just heard some realities from behind the facade and felt not only sympathy, but that just by calling from "this world" [the Cellar], I really wasn't helping.

The call ended happily because I was talking to a good person who didn't want to pass on any issues.

But my days of "cold calling" (even when I've been given numbers) are over. By all means give me a number and say "Call this week!"
If it's possible I will. Any numbers I've had for a month or more I'll discard.

Oh, except the usual suspects!
Being portentous and all that, I forgot there are at least three Dwellars I am in peripatetic contact with. But you know who you are.

Anyway, like Tony sez - I love you all.
Suspending my desire to talk to you does not lessen the actual desire.
It just acknowledges that a call out of the blue is rarely at the right time.

And I'm usually available to talk - on GMT time! And my home number is only a PM away.

What's crushing, these days? Sonspex got 1970, which is making me happy today.

footfootfoot 06-02-2011 09:09 AM

Whippersnappers. When I took the SATs they only went up to 1400. And we had to grade them ourselves!

and another thing, GET OFF OF MY LAWN YOU KIDS!!!

infinite monkey 06-02-2011 09:10 AM

WTF are SATs?

We took ACTs. And WE LIKED THEM.

Hmmph.

Sundae 06-02-2011 09:14 AM

What's crushing these days?
In my days it was dirty great big stones.
They laid them on us witches til we either confessed (and then they burned us) or died.

Wait. What?
I might have said something I didn't mean to, back there somewhere.

It's a really beautiful day out there. Sunny, crisp, not too hot, light breeze. I'd be happy if the rest of the summer was like today, with a couple rainy days now and then to keep things green.

I lurved them. I've always had a knack for tests.

*scratching my head* Not sure what happened from reading your post, but it makes me rather sad. And....I didn't realize you actually do make phone calls to other Dwellars. I thought Monster was joking when she told me to give you my digits so I can hear you say the correct pronunciation of certain words. Why don't you use yahoo messenger or skype or such programs to talk to oversea Dwellars? Wouldn't cost a single dime to voice chat at all. I would love to give you my number, but since my schedule is so tight I wouldn't know when to ask you to call me. If you do have a messenger program, I would love to catch you on there sometimes. By the way, what would our time difference be?
