Perhaps sabotaged by an animal who shan't be named to increase lap time? :eyebrow:

Whatever it was, I hope it wasn't expensive.

Not cheap - fortunately the two Js were able to help with the bill )

Ouch! Treble trouble.

The reason I ask is that I used to help a local computer repair bod and the first port of call for any machine that was dead on arrival was to check the power supply.

Quite often, lightning had created a surge in the overhead telephone line which took the shortest route to earth which, of course, was via the PSU knackering it in the process.

It was a quick and easy repair and relatively inexpensive.

Sorry to hear that you drew the short straw this time.

I knew it wasnt the power supply, because it was drawing power - it would start the boot up process, it wold light up and sound like it was about to start whirring - then just shut down after a few seconds without ever fully booting up

I thought it would be the motor/ fan - alas not :P

From downstairs, I hear Minifobette absolutely shouting and screaming in her room. This would be questionable in any case, but certainly while she's supposed to be in class over the computer...

So I go listen through the door, and eventually figure out that she is in class--gym class. They're doing their start-of-year evaluations (the FitnessGram Pacer Test, for those hip to the jargon,) and apparently the distance learning version involves one kid on the floor in their room doing pushups or whatever, and the rest of the class aggressively cheerleading on camera, complete with jumping, kicks, etc.

My daughter screamed, "Get it, Ethan!" like a rabid MMA fan, then coordinated the other kids in a mass cha-cha slide to celebrate his prowess.

It was super cute.
