Welcome to my world.
Looks good from here. |

Goalie Boy played and rocked that net and the team won. He was given the game puck.
|
They should win, after all they were voted best by an unbiased public. :king:
|
watching john carter with family. :)
|
Is it good?
|
I thought it was good. Not fantastic, but, a decent flick. If your one of those tha has to analyze everything to the point you destroy anything good, ya probably won't like it.
Unless you like that sort of thing. |

My 1992 VW Passat Estate passed its MoT Test (annual safety check) yesterday, I'm very pleased to say. :thumb:
It was Dad's car but he gave up driving some years ago and handed it over to me. My own car was a ghastly French abomination about which I shall say no more other than I parked it on my neighbour's drive last November while she was away for nearly five weeks and didn't use it once during that time. It made sense to dispose of it so I treated it to a day out at the local breaker's yard. They paid me £55 ($69) and I also got a refund on tax and insurance. :) |
You can't help yourself, it's inborn for you Brits to want to crush anything French. :haha:

I began populating the drawers yesterday and continued today. I need to get my shop up and running again because deadlines, but the idea is to make the things I use all the time easily accessible and the odd stuff sent to overflow parking. It's a work in progress, retraining myself not to walk across the shop to get a rasp or mallet. |
Very nice, foots!
|
All organized like a capitalist tool. Cool, that's where the money's at. ;)
|
You just want to get in his drawers, too.

Actually, we cut it ahhh... short to beat the storm back home. Still we got 2 full days of downhill in only missing the planned xc day. It shifted to snow around daybreak here, so we'll get the xc in here this afternoon.
|
Really nice work Foot3.
Oh, and thanks all. |

You're right, Philly weather says 11.4 inches over the three days, although Wilmington, Trenton and Allentown got a foot and a half.
I lived in Secane in 1966 and we got walloped Christmas weekend and again New Years weekend. I've got pictures of my car drifted over with just one front fender showing. |
Wait, Lancaster got 13", Reading got 16", and Morgantown got 50"? :eyebrow:
|
Elevation. Nope Morgantown is only a couple hundred higher.
|

The next movie I want to see badly enough to take the muscle relaxers that will allow me to survive that long in a theater seat opens in less than 2 weeks when I was sure it'd be a late-summer feature! Yay, early theatrical awesomeness! (we need a Kermit Flail emoticon or something)

Today music is making me happy.
Being able to work on my creative writing (a/k/a "slapping my imaginary friends around") is making me happy. Temperatures above freezing are making me very happy! Having a little kingdom of solitude all to myself (a/k/a my computer room, NO CATS ALLOWED) is making me happy. The fact that I've kept a single pet alive and healthy for over 15 years is making me happy. The fact that the sweet family living in the other upstairs unit in my building don't have to move is making me happy. The fact that I have a tiny but solidly built little "family" around me makes me happy whenever I slow down enough to remember how lucky I am. See, I may be mouthy but I CAN do something other than babble science and be a jerk :D. |

Went to see "her" perform this weekend. Met some of her family and friends too. Awesome.

Pens go from 0-3 to 4-3, that was something to watch.

They could've made a much worse Kong movie than Skull Island. I didn't go for the plot, and despite making my neighbor giggle at a less than perfect time, I wasn't JUST there to ogle Tom Hiddleston. He was actually one of the quietest, least-developed characters in the bunch. The fact that Skull Island gave us beautifully designed & executed CGI, no human characters grandstanding for attention (I'm lookin at YOU, Jack "Carl Denham" Black...), and LOTS of monster fights made me happy. The fact that I saw all the really sweeping sequences on big screen made me happy. The fact that I'll get to go see it again when my sweetie & friends go is happiness waiting for the right time to happen.
|
The last sentence in that post made me smile.

Got a call from SonofV today. He wants to visit this weekend. We're gonna work on our costumes for SakuraCon.
I'm happy! |
daughter of glatt just heard from her second college. Dickinson. They gave her what I understand is a pretty good deal, although I still have sticker shock.
Annual sticker price cost of attendance is $69.1K but her special price is $24.3K. By way of comparison, in-state University of Virginia is $30.4K. Rumor has it that UVA is much less likely to give scholarships, they mostly do loans. So these private out of state schools are actually cheaper with their scholarships. But she got in! She's currently 2-0. Waiting to hear from 3-4 more. |
That's very exciting! You have a lot to be proud of. My congratulations to her, and to you and her mother. WTG!
|
Congrats V. on seeing Son of V and
D of G - Whoa!!!! Thats a great accomplishment. Her tuition is outstanding. |
excellent!

Training!
Today I got out of bed early and worked out. Yay!

You're raising the bar for the rest of us! |
Went out to dinner with a good friend, fancy place that opens at 5pm with a line down the block because they won't take reservations. 45 minute wait for a table, and both bars backed up three deep. $9 for a glass of Cabernet, $6 for Beam and ginger, $10 for a burger to $25 for a steak. Her son is a chef there and the owner comped our meal and drinks for four. I did take care of the waitress and Jazz Trio though. Splendid night. :thumb:

Only the highest calibre of ladies and gentlemen tip the dinner band.
