Thanks. It's by far the most colorful house in the village.

My shoulder is starting to feel a lot better. It's been a damn slow haul - 12 weeks or so of near constant pain and not much sleep. I am almost back to full range of movement again and can see light at the end of the tunnel*
* I am reasonably sure it is not an oncoming train |

Yeah - at least I didn't have to disturb anybody else's sleep (with the possible exception of Carrot) Hope Pete's has sorted out - not fun. I've been letting myself go on the computer a bit more during my downtime this past week (didn't intend to spend quite this much time tbh, but I arrived back at the family farm to find a 3 ring fire and it's been kind of hard to look away) - and so far it's not too bad. I have a day off work today and thinking I should employ some self-restraint and go listen to an audiobook for a bit while i have the opportunity of a mostly computer-free day :) |
Good news on Pete's as well, it was calcium deposits and the Nurse Practitioner was able to use ultrasound and lavage to break it up and remove it. Unbelievably good outcome after so much pain.

ahh - they aren't sure whether mine is a recurrence of calcium deposits (have had calcific tendonitis on and off for a few years) or arthritis. I think they are trying to avoid having people go for face to face consultations and procedures unless its fairly urgent. Doc said if it isn't responding to the meds within 3 weeks I need to go see him. So far so good - think I should be ok.
I've heard mixed reports of that way of dealing with calcium deposits - works really well for some people, but not for everyone. At least I think it was something like that But - the last time I looked into it was when I first had the tendon thing about 6 or 7 years back. I might ask the doc about it if this keeps flaring up. |
Back in July, my A1C was 12.3.
They checked it today. 6.6. Wootwooot!!! LDL was 106. |
That is better than my A1c. You are an Awesome Person.

Squirrel-o'mine came over for a visit and was straightening out the placemats at the table and she said, "Here's your phone." FML If I had bothered to have sit down at the table dinner with the kids instead of "Couch Dinner" I would have found my phone days ago.
|
That's hilarious--er, I mean, sorry for your pain. But also, hilarious.
|
A1C sounds great. It is nice to have a clear indication of your status and a clear, if not necessarily easy, way to maintain it.
|
Mr. Digr, that is beyond impressive.

She took me off the metformin, too.
That's a big one for me. I was on 2000 mg a day. One of my other docs said that there aren't too many ppl that can successfully tolerate that much. I couldn't. The most I could do was 1500 mg, and still suffered just crazy diarrhea. Like pouring water out of a bucket. And now I'm off it completely. For now, anyway. We'll watch the numbers, and see. |
What is A1C?
Congratulations even if i don't know for what. |

"The test results give you a picture of your average blood sugar level over the past two to three months." I can barley remember what I ate for breakfast yet my average blood sugar levels are determinable 2-3 months later. Suck on THAT shit grapeseeds |
