That's more like it.
Oldie but a goodie, monstah. Of course I do have to give my stop right back to you. Missed Stop! |
Borough Hall
|
Finally! Now I can play one.
St. John's Wood *snicker* |
Lol. You should have waited until morning for that one!
|
Well, we have already had Cockfosters...twice!
|
With a nod to the west ... (Port) Richmond!
|
*snort* As if.
Richmond, pfft. |
Get those dogs baying, and take a step to the left, it's Hounslow!
(where I'll be on the 8th of next month :P) |
Hounslow?
Sweet Chariot |
Comin for to carry me.....
To Ogelsby Pincushion. lotta pricks there these days. |
Jim you sweetie.
You left that one wide open. Am happy to slide in with Hatton Cross. And yes, you can leave your hat on... |
...They don't know what love is
Yeah, I know what love is... Cockfosters |
And that's that.
Mornington Crescent. That almost felt like cheating, foot. 3 cock fosters in one game. Never seen it before. But then Blankenship's rule is only a decade or so old.... Who's next? |

You just got a lot sexier
|
Not possible, is it?
Dana, were you able to place them permanently? |

Ha! Change of century sidetrack for you! :p:

Stoppit, stoppit, stoppit!!!!
You're making things up now. Ruining the game. Royston Vasey. So there. |
Sense and Sensibility
|
Spitalfields, and lets remember we are 21st century players, and (cant believe this is happening twice..) clocks spring forward this weekend.
I repeat, SPITALFIELDS and the clue to progression..? Mount Pleasant. HA! |
I was at the fabled station just ten minutes ago and didn't see you there, Jim. Didn't alight though.

Tch. I was just avin a kip on a bench. Or maybe I was in the WC?
Anyway, I was dressed as a tall asian woman. You probably wouldn't have recognized me anyway. Poliwog Crossing |

My math says you posted that around midnight your time, Limey. It's only 10pm here, so..... Mornington crescent :p: I win!
|
Limey dahling that's lovely.
But what I really want is a photo of one of the Lost Stations of the Underground. Yes, I know you can't get one from a Tube - they're dark. They're lost after all. Neil Gaiman makes wonderful use of them in various short stories. When I win the Lottery... :blah: ... I will organise a Dwellar party in London's original cellar. How's an abandoned Tube platform for the setting of a great horror movie? When few of us really know eachother IRL? And that lovely charismatic guy/ girl who joins just in time to join the party? You seen Creep, right? Not a great film, but for those of us who've taken the last Tube home it has resonance. Specially if you look like Franka Potente, like what I do. PS - Unfair use of time difference there Monster. You're sentenced to a round of the Circle Line. |
...Did I just catch sight of Caz zooming through Spitalfields?
|
Yup you did Dana, sweaty face pressed up against the window of a Northern Line train in the rush hour as it whistles through Mornington Crescent and some of those crushed in alongside think '...oh thats that place ...'
Oh again!! Just as I typed that someone on the radio announced Richard Griffiths death, the wonderful teacher on the moped in The History Boys and all the other great parts. Oh. |
Well I believe we might have time for one more round, so I'll start us off with Tooting Broadway. Open season, all established variations may be played except the Chumley-Warner.

yes, well, you should never have attempted the Wimbledon reverse maneuver when poor old CF was trying to change lines carrying his bike -not cricket at all.
|
I will play Barking for olde tyme's sake, remembering the reindeer games we used to play
I was formerly unaware of the Belle and Sebastian song "Mornington Crescent" which is excellent |

sneaky..... but I think you'll find that may be your Waterloo! (via Angel). get out of that!

I miss Herbie and Yukon Cornelius. Next time we're up that way, I'll be sure to drop a North poke Station in. For now, though, Chalk Bottom will have to do. |
In that case...
Hampton Court. (Which is not as painful as it sounds). |
I thought you had me for a moment there, but after a cuppa I realized..... I could "just say no" with Grange Hill!
|
I didn't see that one coming. You play a mean game ma'am.
I was saving this for later, but needs must... Baker Street. (Circle Line - Westbound, that is). |
I'm not sure "Westbound" is legal, it's certainly not moral; but I'm not going to argue it, because it makes this counter move possible: London Bridge.
|
 hmmm..... I need to go do some research
|

Shadwell. Well, it's only fair. How else could I follow London Bridge without the possibility of getting into Nidd? |
Of Course! Shadwell/Knightsbridge conversion: Piccadilly Circus
|
Tricky.
I have no option but to play Renshaw's Gambit, in the vain hope I don't get stuck in the Dollis Hill loop for all eternity. Anyway, here goes: Chalfont & Latimer |
Copley Studge
|
dirty! Dollis Hill (sorry Caruthers, but there are a couple of possible exit routes I see, as long as you don't mind the tea in first, so to speak)
|
Neasden
|
footer should be DQd according to chapter 3 of the Brooks Simplified Handbook; and I feel he should be banned from the site, but this time I'll make it the Moderators' call.
|
Oh and bloody Hounslow Central, if that wasn't way too obvious
|
let's just send him to Coventrycoventrycoventry. Which makes me want to play Covent Garden, which I think I can get away with because of that earlier Hampton Court...
|
A fair point, monster, which forces me to go out on a limb with...
Becontree. Something of a rash move I know, but it's Thursday and therefore legal if not all that ethical. |

Ah, sod it! Embankment. Sorry, Carruthers
|
Embankment and Mornington Crescent are both on the Northern Line, but as the former is also on the Bakerloo Planck's Variable comes into play. Under the circumstances I'm forced to go for...
Rayner's Lane. Planck should have called it a day after he sorted out his constant. |
Wicket's Encroachment
|
It's always the yanks isn't it? Embankment again......
