It has scary juggling skills. Looks like a dozen or so balls in the air at once.
That made me giggle too!
I actually do have some artwork up in Denver...I have to find out where. I am showing with a group that just sort of goes from place to place. Not sure what place we are in right now. My husband drives to Denver every day. Maybe one day we should plan a lunch GTG! |
He's not juggling - that's rain. She informed me that that's a thunder cloud with lightning and rain, because T Rexes are afraid of thunder.
She likes sharks too. And ponies. Yes, let's do lunch. |
I should have my bass and vocal parts finished for our debut single this weekend. Hopefully, if my friend can finish his guitar part in the next week or so, we can release the single at the end of the month.
If you're on Facebook, why not join our fan page? (Hi everybody! I miss you! *blows kisses*) |
As of 114 minutes from RFN I will be at WOMADelaide, a 3 day world music festival in my lovely little town.
(insert all music related smilies here) (and the dance ones too) :jig: |
In the words of a dear friend, who sadly passed away a couple months ago "It's a good day. The sun is shining. The birds are singing..."
It is a nice day.
For Ohio. |
Oh girl...I love a nice warm day after a long Ohio winter. It's rejuvenating!
I'm happy today because my best friend in the whole world, who I wasn't talking to for complicated reasons, emailed me back, just something silly but it means we're friends again. :)
The sun just came out. :)
I love spring in Ohio. I hear a cardinal outside. Not the catholic job...the bird. |
I'm still in my PJ's.
I made a big veg. stew. My son just left to play laser tag with his g/f leaving me in blessed peace! |
Mmmm I love stew.
Facebook, despite being a virus pit, is making me happy... another of my best friends from NY showed up yesterday and just emailed me. Yay! |
That all is right with the universe and all will be well, all will be well and all matter of things will be well.
Yeah, even for assholes. God must love them, he made so many of them :D |
Sorted my final referee for my citizenship application. Which means, at last, I can send the blasted thing off, attend a little ceremony with a minor functionary, then start applying for jobs in Europe as well. Hurrah for British citizenship!
I am happy because yesterday my friends helped me do a bunch of rearranging and painting, and now my bookshelves are in my o ffice where they belong and my daughter's room is 90% done and will be ready to move her bed into on Thursday. :) This means she will no longer be sleeping in the large room upstairs that you have to go through to get to my bedroom, yay!
It's starting to look almost certain that my best friend will get the job she applied for here. Her office will be right next to mine! This place will never be quite the same. ;)
Oh, and we MIGHT be back in our offices this afternoon. Three weeks after the flood. Better almost never than never. |
I'm not bi-polar, just ADHD*.
Yeah!!!! *Edit to add: "slightly" ADHD says my doc. |

But congrats on the diagnosis... :) |
That's hard to believe with the work you do, but it does explain your penchant for abusing your body over hill and dale. :haha:
The card I got from Cherry yesterday arvo. :)
Day 8 of being back on my old BC pills/off the new ones my gyno wanted me to try, and I've lost 3 lbs. I wasn't getting fat, just bloated, apparently. Yay.
The housemate got a job... the weather's starting to be a little less rainy (relatively speaking)... my daughter slept through the night... my husband is communicating rather than yelling and posturing... yup. I have a big happy. Could use some company though... talking to myself isn't all that much fun! (Baby Girl is over at a friend's house for a few hours for playtime)

I have just given the kiddies their homework.
They are doing a 5 week survey project, where they design a sociological hypothesis, formulate questions to test it, do the survey, then analyse and present their data. This was a mid-way check. On pair of students had a problem with their stats, that they didn't have enough poor-performing students in their study. After some discussion I realised there is one surefire place to find sub-par students on a Friday afternoon, and directed my (over 18) kiddies accordingly... to the campus bar. Others needed to inteview more international students who might have part time jobs, so they got sent to the central market and restaurant district. Another group needed more "general population" respondents, so I just sent them down to the beach. I kinda like this job. :D |
What subjects are you teaching Zen?
Just Critical Thinking, as part of a Uni prep/entrance course. Effectively the last year of high school.
Ahh...so that's why they're kiddies.
Well, there are a couple that are 17 and the rest are 18 or 19 (and a few 21, 23 etc).
These are international students, some of whom have failed to get into uni in their own countries, and others just aimed for an international uni from the start. I call them kiddies becaue (a) they are half my age, (b) some totally don't have a #$%&ing clue, and (c) it helps keep my expectations of their abilities from rising too high. |
Those are all very valid reasons. Do you like teaching the course though?
Yeah it is mostly good. The only thing that bugs me is marking their work. Some is quite good, some is incomprehensible gibberish, and some is plagiarised from either wikipedia or the textbook. That is annoying. Otherwise, it is a good job, and quite well paying. And I am there now, net surfing. Life is good.
Previously irritating now enlightening: couldn't figure out how coworker who is half my age, only two years on the job (vs. my fifteen) was able to afford to travel every month, and just bought a house. Turns out her roomie works for the airlines so she flies for free and stays with friends, hence the traveling. Mommy paid the down payment on the house; mortgage is the same as my rent. I feel much less loserly now.
It's all who you know. :eyebrow:
or who you blow.
But on a less self-pitying note, Princess of the Ryche makes me happy every day!!! |

My mom has lotsa $$$ but doesn't want to share til after she's dead, which is fine. She earned it, it's her right to do with it as she wishes. I just wish her wish was to see her daughter and grand-daughter living in a nicer home, living a slightly better quality of life, but so be it. I'm doing fine on my own, just sayin'....guess I should move this over to the irritated thread, hunh? Sorry. Venting complete. Resume happiness.
My cats make me very happy. Big source of amusement.
I have successfully been married for 365 days. Woohoo!
Have a very happy anniversary, you two!!
Hey, Happy, Happy Anniversary! Woot! :girlband:
Congrats, Choco, Kitsune! Best wishes for at least another 75!
Happy Anniversary! Did you do anything special? :)
Good lord, a year gone already? Congrats kittlings, have a very lovely 1st anniversary :)
Wow - congrats!
Congrats Kits and Choco! Did you keep the top of your cake to eat tonight?

Thanks, all!
I actually dropped the top tier of our cake, last year, bringing it home. Utter calamity. We just picked up a new cake from the bakery to eat tonight, after dinner out at the restaurant where we had our reception. I am pretty sure our marriage will last at least another 75 days, and will count myself very lucky if we get 75 years. :) |
Top tier is saved for first anniversary here? traditionally becomes christening cake for first baby in UK. of course, there it's heavy fruitcake so doesn't need to be frozen, either....
Years, UT. Smarty-pants.

then, eat the cake, and what, use the baby as a doorstop?
Fuck the cake. Use the door as a baby stop.
J/K |
If you fuck the cake, there will be no baby.

How do your senses of humor run on full power at that time of morning? Mine doesn't wake up until at least one cup of coffee, and even at that not nearly as quick as you guys.....inspiring.

You can't fuck the cake to make a baby -that would be irresponsible because the cake is full of alcohol and so the baby would be brain-damaged...
...thereby making it suitable for use as a doorstop, and saving it a fortune in booze and drug costs throughout its life...
It's Spring! The frogs were doin' it today!
You know what's goin' down in Paris?
