HLJ, ya goof...I was posting to the poster of the previous post and the previous post pertaining to pets who have parted.
|
I just applied for a really cool sounding job that does not require certification. Of course, I immediately got a call from PA saying I'd be getting both my certs...:right:
|
Good question HLJ. I came here to see some people happy after getting out of that Rape Assault thread. More gloom......
|
Yeah, bite me. Meow. ;)
|
Ah, so sorry Shawnee.

I've had a really good week so far: Progressed a couple of ongoing bits of casework; drafted a leaflet for the MP to put out in development wards; attended two meetings as a councillor that turned out to be really interesting, despite having really dull titles (e.g West Yorkshire Transport Authority: Education Liaison Committee); went to a party meeting this evening, where, due to the secretary's continued ill health, I was acting-secretary (have been for a couple months now) and had managed to get the minutes from the last General Committee and the last Executive Committee all typed up last week, and was able to report on a bunch of stuff that had been actioned, thereby making myself look uber committed and organised *does the competant and organised fully rounded human being dance* God if they only knew!
Anyway. There we go. Had a good first half of the week and loads to do tomorrow and Friday followed by the action day on Saturday. After sinking into that horrible malaise for months it's a relief to me that I have managed to string together a few weeks of being organised and on the ball. I did stuff before but it was such an effort and I only did a fraction of what I should have been doing. This is so much better. I am back up in a frame of mind where I like being busy again! Brilliant:) Oh yeah and I start back at uni next week! *does the happy to be going back to uni dance, confuses moves with the competant and organised fully rounded human being dance, and trips over own feet* |
I have been nasty and sick for weeks now, both with cold symptoms and puking all the damn time.
This makes me happy because after a visit to the doctor, it turns out that unbeknownst to me, I'm already well on my way towards minifob #2 (teenyfob?) Part deux will be due in April, about six weeks before Minifob's second birthday. Woo! |
Congratulations! We have a new baby coming soon, maybe Christmas...
|

Wow - congrats Flint & family
Especially big congrats to Clod & family though, after all the issues creating a Minifob you must be floored by the ease of creating the Bean You go breeders, have one on my behalf ;) |

Hey Sundaes back!:notworthy |
Congratulations Clodfobble and Flint! Great, happy news!
So, are these chillens like our nieces and nephews, in a Cellar kind of way:? :) |
I think the mormons have a saying: “Women are vessels to be worn out in childbirth.”
|
I'll have what Mrs. Flint and Clod are having, and make it a triple.
Congrats guys! Let's hope KC turns out to have been a good weekend for the Rat family ... ;) |

Typhoon day!
Think snow day but warmer. and windier. |
Warm, windy and wet.
Like anal sex with a curry-lover. |
I had to reinstall windows last month. I had tons of music I thought I had lost. I found stashed data c/ds full of music from like 5 years ago. I have some rare covers and other music that makes me remember good times with a couple of people
:) some titles are: Smashing Pumpkins _Dancing in the Moonlight Stone Temple Pilots _Dancing Days Pearl Jam_ The Wreck of the Edmond Fitzgerald. and on and on ...very happy about that. A treasure to find! |
I love it when that happens! That's how I rediscovered my Nick Cave cds!
|
I set a new (personal) mpg record on my drive in today: 114.6 mpg over 19.1 miles. This takes just the right combination of temperature, traffic and technique.
I did have to run one red light and two stop signs, but it was worth it. |
:::making mental note to not allow husband to insure HLJ:::
|
I called in sick today.
Not feeling 100%...but I could've made it through the day. Mental health day, I've only called off 3 or so times in the year I've been there, so sue me for taking a fun day. :p |
So why aren't you out having fun?
|
Quote:
I expect you to tell us your mileage on you way back home tonight. Feel free to run stop signs and red lights if it will help. |
Quote:
If I achieve the following results: drive to work, 19.1 miles @ 114.6 mpg, and drive home is 18.2 miles @ 52.5 mpg; what's the total average mpg? |
Around 85mpg. Give or take as needed.
That's good mileage. That's on your bike? |
Quote:
That's in the Honda Insight. |
Quote:
If you got 114.6 mpg over 19.1 miles, then you used 0.167 gallons on that leg. Then if you got 52.5 mpg over 18.2 miles, you used 0.347 gallons. You went 37.3 miles total and used 0.514 gallons. So that's 72.56 MPG. Alright. You are correct. |
Hey- I'm not fuckin' freaked out today......woo-hoo! It's chilly and.....even the coffee tastes better.
Awesome. Yup. Everythings back to abnormal. I feel better. I can even keep track of time today......It may be going incredibly slow now, but at least I'm back to having a decent perception of it. Talk about going nuts- at least I know now that if I go nuts I can still come back. |

I have fun planned for tomorrow instead...I hope. |

I'm Still in a singing mood...
The most beautiful sound I ever heard: Maria, Maria, Maria, Maria. All the beautiful sounds of the world in a single word: Maria, Maria, Maria, Maria, Maria, Maria. Maria, I've just met a girl named Maria, and suddenly the name will never be the same to me. Maria! I've just kissed a girl named Maria. And suddenly I've found how wonderful a sound can be. Maria, say it loud and there's music playing. Say it soft and it's almost like praying, Maria, I never stop saying: "Maria!" |
I talked to my HM re my debts (in nauseating detail in the Health thread) and am finally cried out.
It sounds melodramatic, but I have honestly never cried so much in my LIFE and was scaring myself. All done now, cry-wise and thinking-HM-wants-me-out-wise and it feels good to be back in the land of the living. |
Bloody glad to hear it. :D (for your sake, not a criticism of your previous feelings...)

Just got to award some unexpected scholarship dollars to some deserving students! Woohoooo (the "best of times" part of my job.)
First Academic Senate of the school year. It's usually a hoot because a few really pretentious and pompous faculty take the floor and many of us giggle inside! I get to be FA rep, I volunteered, when most of student services begs not to go (I think it's really fun!) My co-worker is covering my help session this afternoon so I don't have to leave Senate early. Then we get out an hour early on Friday. Yep, it's a good day! :) |
The weather today is great! I came in by motorcycle, and might take a long lunch and go for a ride in the hills.
I'm the only person in the office today. |
I'm going to my older son's Homecoming game. He's captain of the football team and on Homecoming court--Yoohoo!
My other son is coming with and so is my mom! It's a good day. :) |

Yom Kippur?

That's what I'm thinking about. |
Yeah! My son's football team won homecoming 24-23 and he was crowned king (well, his chick, the one he escorted was crowned queen so he wins King default)
Yay! He played a great game (he's tight end) and was v. exciting. I love going to those games. Was such fun. |
Ha! Haaa! Awesome!
