Slightly off-topic: I attended a wedding just a bit ago. The groom's mother's name is Loopy...that is what is on her birth certificate.

HungLikeJesus 09-06-2008 03:24 PM

I've just released Gustav.

I said, "Fly, be free."

Unfortunately, stick bugs can't fly.

Loopy and not Lupe?

elSicomoro 09-06-2008 08:02 PM

Loopy. We actually just talked to her at the reception, but we didn't get the story on why her name is what it is.

Help! How soon can I get my 8 week old puppy on my sleep schedule? Is it cruel to wake her up during the day? Oh I feel like crap today...oh...still happy my puppy is settling in...Neeed sleep...:)

Undertoad 09-07-2008 12:57 PM

crate training?

Oh jeez UT. It was her first night with us and I attempted to put her in her kennel and she howled like she was being stabbed or something. So we had to go sleep on the couch, then I would fall asleep and she would crawl on my head every thirty minutes, get comfy, and kick me in the head...She is going in the kennel tonight and she is going to have to howl I guess. The plan is to ware her out today, as much as I am, oh say, right now, and hopefully she'll just pass out. She is so darned cute though, as indicated by this photo :D :

Yes my rug is dirty. I think the reasons are obvious. ;)

She's so cute! I am very envious. She can sleep with me, no matter how much she kicks, how can you deny that face?

limey 09-07-2008 05:25 PM

Cute? Yes!
Crate training? Hell, yes!

Cicero, did you do the thing with a clock wrapped up in cloth?

If you get a small alarm clock and bundle it up under her bedding, it'll sound like her mothers heartbeat and this usually comforts them during the first few nights.

[edit] not small enough for her to chew on...

bluecuracao 09-07-2008 06:00 PM

I don't think it would be cruel to wake her up to play. We did that with Bosco when he was a kitten, and it cut down a lot on his running around and mrow-ing at night.

That cute little puppy face is killing me!

Undertoad 09-07-2008 07:38 PM

Somewhere I read that for nighttime, you might have the pup in the crate, but on a table or something so you're there, visible and at the same level.

This seemed to quiet the young ones I have had.

What a beauty!

I put my ear up to my clock but I couldn't hear anything.

It's digital.
