STOOOPID!! (Take Two)

This is one of the most unbelievably stupid things I've come across so far. People are selling Florida's hurricane wind, leaves, branches, sand, and prayers on Ebay. What's even more stupid is that people are actually bidding on this stuff.

Wind for sale on Ebay

So you're saying if I had thought about it, having spent a month in close proximity with someone whose wind is much stronger than Hurricane Frances... damn it Rodney, we could have been millionaires.

Who are the sellers? I can see how they might be people trying to get a little laugh out of such a bad time. I can see how they might be people who lost a lot and figure people might buy what they can no longer use and try and regain a bit of capital. Or they could just be people who know there are people out there who don't have anything better to do with $10.

The people are probably friends of the sellers who bid to create momemtum for the item, and to raise the price.

Another get-rich opportunity missed.

I should have thought of this years ago. I had access to craploads of equipment and other junk which the Schuylkill River flowed through thanks to Hurricane Floyd.
