eBay - where else can you get EVERYTHING?

eBay is good.

If you type in anything, chances are they have it.

It's an awesome tool for finding anything you want.

I've used it for doing just that. How else can you find firewire cards, computers, Buckethead albums, and hard-to-find music.

That, and lots of crazy clothes.

Slashdot just has links to ThinkGeek. They don't have Buckethead CD's.

Therefore, eBay is better.

I also an an eBay fan.

I'm not happy to see they've gotten in bed with Microsoft for the Passport service though. Sorta leaves a foul taste in one's mouth.

I probably would i fi was +18 and had a credit card. The amount of things i wanted to order (from hardware to t-shirts to stickers to software...) is incredibly annoying. Waiting for my new debit card to come though that gives me a visa number just no credit - it switches to my savings if my main account defaults.

I used eBay once...about 700 years ago. Okay, more like 4 or so years ago. I bought an import Depeche Mode CD for my then-fiance for her birthday. I probably overpaid the seller, but it was worth it...and the sale went rather smoothly, other than my m.o. getting lost en route from St. Louis to Toronto.

I will not use it or Half.com anymore though b/c quite frankly, I don't feel comfortable leaving my CC info to someone I don't know.

If thats all thats holding you back, I'd sugest you check out PayPal. You give them and only them your CC number, and they handle the transfer of funds. Almost everyone on ebay uses them now, and afaik they're 100% reliable.

I've gotten modded flaimbait for recent anti-war sentiment several times. My karma's currently 50, but it dips down regularly.

SLASHDOT???
Slashdot is a tech newsite thats linux orientated, its an entity in itself with a huge readerbase and its own culture. If you work in IT, are a geek or just an interest in tech it could be your home page.

My homepage is a blank page. Why would anyone want to wait those extra 2 seconds for some site to load when you're just going to hit 'stop' and type in the url yourself anyway? :]
