What it's like to be a woman in Iraq

http://ishtartalking.blogspot.com/

Three posts so far, and all of them absolutely astonishing... first-person accounts of a woman's life in Iraq.

For a brief while a few years ago, before I thought about the middle east, I worked with a first-generation Iranian immigrant woman. Not only was she a great consultant, she dressed every day to the hilt, fashionable but also feminine. Now I think maybe she dressed like that because she understood what it was like not to be allowed to. Given a free culture she took every advantage. Makes me feel like an underachiever here in my t-shirt and shorts and sandals.

Good read, UT. Latest post at the top, first post at the bottom if anyone wants to read in order.
Stick to your wardrobe 'cause you'd make a pretty ugly broad anyway.
