Every night. It took a while to get used to it.

The Cellar comes through again. I have been going through testing and visits with a neurologist to try to determine the cause for my (annoying to me, interesting to them) symptoms. Had a sleep study, and at least some of the issues are likely related to apnea and sleep deprivation. Next Friday I go back in to be measured for CPAP.

It's good to know it helps others. I admit that I am suspicious of the sudden popularity of the CPAPs. Someday some doctor is going to forget if they are auto-prescribing for mobility scooters or CPAPs, and an unlucky patient will be found aboard a scooter going 'round and 'round in their hallway, completely asleep. But I want to try one because the idea of being able to get a good night sleep brings me this//close to tears. Keep the good news coming!

Had the CPAP trial sleep study last night, and didn't do too well because - no surprise - I had difficulty getting to and staying asleep. Be a week or so before there's any CPAP machine, assuming they'll prescribe one and not pills. Dang it.

I've had several people they liked the result of CPAP, but just couldn't hack sleeping with it.

I've slept with a CPAP for 2 nights now. Wow. I can feel the difference already. My mask is just a hose with nasal pillows (or some such term) and I've had no problems yet. Double-wow. It's amazing to wake up with a brain that is fully oxygenated, with energy to go all day. What a difference!

We'll be traveling for about 6 weeks out of country soon, and I was not planning on taking a machine with me - but now I'm thinking that I will accept any hassle with airlines because I want to keep on feeling this way. Anyone flown across international borders with one? Any problems? Should I get something from my doctor?
