RIP Shotgun

Poor Shotgun was put to sleep this morning at 0830 EDT.

She had been eating that recalled dog food. Her kidneys were in total failure and she had not eaten for a week. Nothing at all, not even Ensure (her favorite) or more than a lap or two of water.

It was decided that it was her time, and she was taken to the vet early this morning. My friend, Kurt, was the one who took her for her final ride. I had already discussed this option a while ago when I learned that she was likely going to die of renal failure as opposed to old age (which was coming anyway) when the news of the pet food recall hit.

This was not a surprise to me and thus I only grieved for a little while. I spent some time just hugging Junior. Thankfully, he has not eaten any of the recalled food, even the most recent stuff.

Any way, I will post a picture of her if I can get one.

Thank you for listening.

Brian

So sorry to hear about Shotgun. You gave her some good days, which she wouldn't have had otherwise.

Aw crap. I didn't like seeing that thread title. I'm sorry, Brian. As the others have said, you really gave Shotgun a good life while you had her.
