I'm with Freddie. I'm not usually a fan of high male voices, but holy crap that guy could sing.

There is no way in hell she has broader range than Cyndi Lauper.

What about Pink? She's pretty good even in concert. Great in fact.

A friend of mine just joined that tour, playing keys and 2nd guitar. If you see Pink live, keep an eye out for the 30 year old trying to look 18.

She's touring here again next year. We went last year and it was awesome. She's a great act to watch, and I really love her voice. We might go again next year if we can get decent tickets. I think we'll have to be quick though. She's very popular here.

Oh, and about boys in rock bands? Don't most of them like to pretend they're still spring chickens even when they're old boilers? lol

Did you mean Chrissie Hynde? She's awesome.

Of this list, I have to go with Natalie Merchant. I think she's great.

I'd go for Joni Mitchell, beautiful voice and a beautiful creative artist.

"Best" and "Most Distinctive" are mutually exclusive categories.

Perhaps the thread creator was trying to economically express two questions, not one either / or question.

I read it as two questions, hence, two answers.
