'Scuse me, but only Alan Partridge thinks a Mentalist is a person with mental impairment.

A Mentalist is someone like Mr Derren Brown.
In whose latest programme I appear.
And no, I didn't just mention it for that reason.

Oh okay, yes I did.

*shakes head* mentalist is also deliberately incorrect (both in terms of definition and political correctness) slang term for nutter. As used by such fine comedians as Ricky Gervaise and Rob Newman.

[eta] kudos for the Brown gig. Yah.

Okay, okay.
Also used (deliberately incorrectly) by Mark Gatiss.

I was being a word snob in case there was stupid people in Cellar-land (as if!) what didn't know.

I have the clip of me on SkyPlus - I might try to film it for the Cellar. 'Cept only the Brits will get why it's so damned special.

I'd just like to say that I think Sundae has been on TV (OMG how COOL!) but other than that, I've really no idea what else you two are talking about.

We actually used Darren Brown as an object lesson for my stepdaughter yesterday. She was insisting beyond all rationality that she remembered an event a certain way, even though we knew it was impossible for it to have happened that way. So we used this video to show her how the human brain can be tricked--and she was so fascinated she ended up watching a ton of others.
