Brits are drinking Germany dry

According to the Mirror.co.UK , British football fans are drinking so much beer the Germans are running out.
Quote:
Breweries warned beer could run out before the final because of huge demand from our supporters.

In Nuremberg, organisers revealed 70,000 England fans who flooded the city drank 1.2MILLION pints of beer - an average of 17 pints each.

Astonished bar keeper Herrmann Murr said: "Never have I seen so many drink so much in such little time."

His bar at a fans' tent in the city ran out after they drained all 32 of his 50-litre (11 gallon) barrels.

Herr Murr calculated Britons were shifting beer at a staggering rate of 200 pints per minute.

mmmm.... the Mirror is not generally regarded, in the UK, as a prime example of verisimilitude.... however, I do take your pint ^h^h^hoint.... English soccer fans are quite partial to a bevy or two...three..four....et al

Good thing the Scots didn't qualify or there would be no beer left.
We might be crap at football but we can beat any nation hands down at
drinking

The behavior reports from more "reputable media" (is that an oxymoron?), gives this article more credibility.

actually, be-pop, I was going to mention that the 'Brits' doing the drinking were for the most part sassenachs.....

I am given to believe that there is a rule against allowing all 4 home nations in the same world cup for this very reason.... the breweries and distillers simply could not cope.
