Moderator voting thread

Please vote for no more than two people, to be Cellar moderators through the end of the year. The top two will be selected. The term of this office will be through 12/31/2007.

The job is:
Quote:
Moderators are added to the list of email addresses that get notified when someone reports a post. One would remove spam and forum abuse and things like this.

Moderators can do the following:
- Edit, move, delete posts
- Edit, move, copy, open/close threads
- Post announcements (make posts "sticky" at the top of the forum)
- Ban users
This is not a popularity contest but a way to figure out who should have additional power for the benefit of the community. Full disclosure: although I have the ability to see who voted for whom, I won't peek, I sincerely promise.

The vote will be open for three days, ending at 12:01 am Jan. 7. Thanks all for participating.

Ahh, but the spam that's... that's where I had them. They laughed at me and made jokes but I proved beyond the shadow of a doubt and with... geometric logic... that a duplicate posting of spam in the entertainment thread DID exist, and I'd have produced that post if they hadn't of pulled the thread out of action. I, I, I know now they were only trying to protect some fellow moderators...

Ultimately, the real winner is The Cellar, no matter who you vote for.

Did I push the modesty a little to hard, or is that good?

It's good, because you're right...and also because it was funny, in a good way.

We'll see.

From the peanut gallery.

I think Bruce and Wolf are doing good jobs BUT I thought the idea was to give everyone an opportunity to moderate who wanted to?

Not like we are voting any one out to change a vote. I'd like to see someone who would like the duty of moderating for a while be given the opportunity.

Thats a good point skysidhe. I didn't think of it that way - I looked at it from the "if it ain't broke don't fix it." point of view. I think they do a great job so . . .

yesman you read my mind! I was saying to myself that most people were looking at it from the 'if it aint broke don't fix it viewpoint"

and thanks for recieving the heart in which it was given! Yes wolf and bruce are very fine moderators.

You can't nominate yourself, it doesn't count!

People should be able to vote for themselves because voting for anyone else is moot if the incumbents are "comfortably in" "Why even bother?" some may ask.
