Great Weekend Releases
Just came back from seeing Wall E, the animated Pixar flick.
Best movie I've seen in years. Favorite animated movie ever. Go see it. |

it looks cute! reminds me of Short Circuit
ETA: Just checked Rotten Tomatoes on this one--96%!!! with more than one reviewer saying it's "perfect." That's pretty unprecedented.

Man, I'm jealous. We're thinking of taking the kids next week--which really means that Mr. Clod will take the kids and I'll stay home with the young'uns. Sigh. I might get to see it after Christmas, when someone inevitably gets one of them the DVD.

Went to see Wanted. Good. Violent, action-packed. A story type I always like (Everyman becomes not-so-Everyman. This guy has special assassin powers!)
Spent half the movie staring at Angelina's makeup, wondering how they get it so freakin perfect. And just what up with Morgan Freeman's face? Are those freckles? It's almost like virtual scarification. Like Seal, only natural.

Good clear dialogue or ideally subtitles (I watch all DVDs with subtitles) Any scenes in the dark are still clear enough for me to work out what is happening. Horror to have at least one gasp moment, and creepy enough to stay with me for days. Comedy to have at least one belly laugh and other lines clever enough to make me grin inwardly for days. Demanding, moi? Tcha. I'd pay £20 to watch that film. And buy the DVD. And then buy it for other people (I distribute books & DVDs if I love them enough) Anyway. As you were.
