Moderator nomination thread

This is part one of the moderators election. (Part two is the actual vote.)

The term of office for this election is through 1/1/2010, and the number of moderators shall remain unchanged at two.

Nominate people to be voted on in the moderators election. People nominated here will appear in the moderators vote, unless they specifically say they do not accept the nomination.

Joke nominations are discouraged, only because I can't tell whether you are joking or not.

The moderator election is not a popularity contest, and everybody hopes that losers, if there are any, do not feel discouraged about the Cellar. Moderator is a harder job than it appears, only because people think of you differently if you are a moderator.

Nominations will close at 11:59 pm Eastern time on Jan. 5. If this is longer than appears necessary, it's only to make sure everyone gets a chance to see the thread and participate.

Nominations are open.

I'm suggesting we keep Bruce and wolf as Moderators-for-Life, like African dictators. As long as they're cool with that.

(Seriously!)

I accept the nomination, and if elected will serve with my customary lack of dignity.

Wolf and Bruce, if they want to keep going.

I know there's a number of dwellars who'd be good at this, but Wolf and Bruce have done a fabulous job the last couple of years. They've managed to strike a good balance, with their moderation rarely visible, but clearly effective.

In case either don't want to do it, I also nominate Monster and labrat.

I'm up for it and accept, but Bruce and wolf are doing a great job. I see no reason to change if they are happy to continue.

I like everybody mentioned including the current administation. I'd suggest Limey as well to spread our hours a bit.

Thanks for the vote, Merc. I haven't the time to do a good job of moderating, so I must decline.
