ouch
I had my teeth worked on today. By a Mexican dentist. All in all, I have no complaints. He did a good job, I have only an ache, not throbbing pain. And the price was right. I paid $3300 for a root canal, three cavities, and crowns on all uppers and three lowers. Billed to my insurance. Yes, I will have to pay up and file a claim but I think they'll pay...the same procedures in the US would have cost over twice that.
I saw a lot of soldiers in formation on the way in but none on the street where I was. No murders but all the mercados were closed. The pharmacies and dental clinics were about the only things left open. And they had door wardens that only unlocked the door if you had an appointment. The dental clinic is "in the family" and the price was more than reasonable. One lower crown came off but they will fix it free first thing tomorrow. I'll be off the roads until Monday due to the pain pills. They even provided a translator (I brought my own anyway) and a free shuttle service to and from my house. What's not to like? They didn't even give me any static when I insisted on general anesthesia, they just said it'd be another 30 minutes until the doctor came in. For $200 extra, it was worth it! I'm SUCH a wimp when it comes to dentists! Anyway, I'm going to pay the extra and have the rest of my lowers crowned when the time comes...makes em all even ya know! Brian
