Tickling the Old Funny Bone

I think we need a video comedy thread. This is it.

We have humour threads, sure, but as a lover of TV comedy especially, I'd like to share some of what I consider to be the greatest comedy sketches, shows and stand-up. I'd also really like other people to feed my comedy obsession by introducing me to shows and comedians I may not have come across before.

I have in mind that this thread will be for 'classic' comedy clips. But that doesn't date-stamp them at all. Sometimes you see a sketch or a show and know that it has instantly joined the pantheon of great comedy moments, along with Blackadder, Monty Python and Steve Martin's pussy joke.

So, I will kick things off with two clips: one old and one new(ish):

First up is a clip from the late 80s/early 90s show A Bit of Fry and Laurie, featuring the marvellous Stephen Fry and his erstwhile comedy partner Hugh Laurie (now the grouchy but still rather wonderful House).

The interrogation scene:

Second is a sketch from the current high fliers of comedy sketchland, the partnership of Mithcell and Webb, from their show That Mitchell and Webb Look: In th show it's split into two parts, here it's combined into one sketch.

The SS Sketch
