Mammograms
I just saw on the TV news, the number of women getting mammograms has dropped 4%, from 70% to 66%. This may be because so many lost their health insurance in the recent past.
I know it's not pleasant, but please ladies, do it. ![]()

taking out the jewelry and reinserting it is a pain.

don't wait. My friend gets her boob amputated Tuesday. no amount of $$ saved can make that better. No more need for Jewelry, though. Or mammogram.

Mum's cancerous cells were detected because of a routine mammogram. She got the best possible prognosis you can, because it was deteected early. She still has to deal with an operation and weeks not doing what she wants (and she's lucky because Dad & I are there and happy to help) AND a scoop outta her boob - which is damn nasty.
Mammograms, smear tests, anything like that - GO DO IT. No Govt or insurance comapny recommends it for fun. Take 30 mins out of your time to look after yourself. Oh, and give blood too. My own personal hobby horse, but I might as well get it in here ![]()

I gave blood yesterday. I almost included that one in my true/false game question. I do it every time they come by our office. It's like 3 times a year. Anyone who can, should.
Also, there was a mammovan that came around here to my office this week I think. And if I read the e-mail correctly, it sounded like it was free. If so, I think that's outstanding. Yup it is free. |

That's great. We need something like that here. Maybe that's my calling. My friend put off getting an annual mammogram because it hurt the first time she had one. Four years later -advanced boob cancer. There are no good excuses.

Insurance doesn't kick in for mine for another few years, but I paid for one out of pocket a couple years ago, wasn't expensive or a huge big deal. Gyno decided today I had a spot that needs to be checked on again in 3 mos.. I guess I'll lay off the caffeine for a bit before that.
