She says we've got to hold on to what we've got

It doesn't make a difference if we make it or not.

What, you were maybe expecting something besides crappy 80s Rock lyrics?

I know. Flint and I have that in common, our love of 80s rocks lyrics. I just like to pull his, um...what is it? Leg! Yeah, leg.

As I was going to St Ives
I met a man with seven wives.

Brilliant! Dokken did that song, I think.

(Oh shoot, I forgot about my pome of the day for Flint.)

The hallmark of a good, cheesy love ballad is that you can imagine the lyrics are referring to Jesus, instead of a woman, and it makes just as much sense, e.g. "You're the meaning in my life, you're the inspiration," "Everything I do, I do it for you," etc.

Sure, Jesus chops apart the broccoli of my sin and crams it down the garbage disposal of God's forgiveness.

Busted flat in Nazareth, I was waiting to be saved
Feeling nearly lost as a sheep
Jesus thumbed a diesel down just before it rained
it drove us all the way to Bethlehem

I pulled my rosary out of my dirty red bandanna
I was prayin' soft while Jesus sang the blues
Windshield wipers slapping time
I was holdin' JC's crown of thorns
we sang every psalm that driver knew

Bein' saved's another word for nothing' left to lose: Nothin' left is all that Jesus left me.
Well feeling saved was easy, Lord when Jesus sang the blues
and feeling saved was good enough for me,
good enough for me and J.H.C.

From the salt mines of King Solomon to the shores of Galilee,
Jesus shared the secrets of my soul.
Through all kinds of sinnin' and everything I've done,
and at night Jesus kept me from the cold.
Then somewhere outside of Calvary, Lord, I let him slip away,
He was lookin' for that cross and I hope he finds it
And I'd trade all my tomorrows for a single loaf of bread,
Or to watch Jesus turning water into wine.

Bein' saved's another word for nothing' left to lose: Nothin' left is all that Jesus left me.
and Feeling saved was easy, Lord, when Jesus sang the blues.
Buddy, that was good enough for me;
Good enough for me and J.H.C.
