I was reading about the new US $100 bills which arrive tomorrow, Oct 8th, 2013. It's the usual details that put most people to sleep, but give counterfeiters nightmares and security wonks a woodie. You know intaglio printing, color shifting ink, micro-printing, blah, blah, blah.

Just as I was about to nod off, look what I found.

Hmmm, they are marking all the $100 printed in Texas.
When I read that the first thing that came to mind was Hawaiian Money!

If you're not familiar with Hawaiian money...

A Hawaii overprint note is one of a series of banknotes (one Silver Certificate and three Federal Reserve Notes) issued during World War II as an emergency issue after the attack on Pearl Harbor. The intent of the overprints was to easily distinguish US currency captured by Japanese forces in the event of an invasion of Hawaii and render the bills useless.
