I'm making the call; today Microsoft announced that a version of the Visual Studio editor will run on all three of OS X, Linux And Windows; and that they were releasing technology to permit Android and IOS apps to run on Windows 10, without too much work.

Code once, run anywhere!

Today they have officially shrugged off the legacy of Steve Ballmer and are embracing the new world where everything is open.

It's a good thing!
