On the one hand, I think we should be able to read stuff before it is passed because the bastards always sneak bad stuff in there. On the other hand, Congress is so polarized and broken that they won't be able to agree that the sky is blue, so any deal will have to be rammed through over at least some objections. And as disappointed in them as I am, I think the D's still tend to look out for labor and the middle class more than the R's do.

None of this is ideal though. It would be better if we had a Congress that put the welfare of the country first and that had representatives involved in the negotiations.

That does not happen when those are moderates. Unfortunately wacko extremists always work for a political agenda while using soundbyte rhetoric to enrich themselves. Too many if not most of our politicians are now wacko extremists. They cannot be trusted to know anything since they will only hear what they hate.

Hate provides power. In part because so many Americans are so anti-American as to worship a 'buy American' lie. Patriotic Americans believe in the completely opposite philosophy - free markets; buy the best.

'Buy American' and 'free market economics' are antonyms.
