I got a forwarded email today that was a schmaltzy poem called "Slow Dance". The lead in was a little girl dying of cancer wrote this poem with the message don't dance too fast because you won't smell the roses. It claimed the email was being tracked(maybe by the NSA), and her wish was everyone read this poem before she died.
Snopes says this poem/email showed up in 1999, and in various incarnations has been credited to being sent by a New York doctor, which he denies, and money somehow going to cancer research for each forward. When I got it both of those were gone, just a request to forward to please the child.
Sixteen years, sixteen fucking years, and people are still forwarding this.
