Three Views of Rome, Italy
Rome is my second home. At least it feels that way. I go at least once a year to see my friends and hang out. These are some shots of the familiar sights there. I'll post more soon.
First up: One of the figures from the Fountain of the Four Rivers (Fontana dei Quattro Fiumi) in Piazza Navona made by Bernini in 1648-51. There are four figures, each one representing one of the great rivers of the then known continents: The Danube for Europe, the Ganges for Asia, the Rio della Platta for the Americas and the Nile for Africa. The Nile figure's face is covered to represent the fact that Europeans did not know it's source at that time. This guy is the Ganges.
