In an 11-4 decision, the full U.S. 5th Circuit Court of Appeals said the so-called "protective sweep," even without a warrant, was justified because Gould had a history of violence and had threatened to kill people, including two judges, who were involved in a messy custody dispute about his daughter.

But Gould's attorney and other critics said the decision is a dramatic rollback of the Fourth Amendment's protection against unreasonable searches.

Here's another way to decrease violent crimes:

"It is up to the citizens to report the kinds of crimes -- such as domestic violence -- that can lead to homicides, police leaders said."

And another way is to get to children while they are young. Stop letting them see violence in the home, and teach them that resolving problems with violence only hurts and doesn't help (and NOOOO, that doesn't mean proper discipline that involves some form of corporal punishment, because I don't care what anyone says, some of these bad ass kids today sure could use it).

Hey! Isn't that illegal or something? Are kids still allowed to pray in public schools? What about nativity scenes in front of the local court house? I'm confused.

Essentially illegal on all counts.

Well, that's what I thought. As far as I'm concerned the cops can pray all they want, but if some whacko out there gets wind of it, the police will all have to haul each other into court while the criminals laugh.
