Is Dan Rather channeling Jed Clampett?

If you're not watching CBS right now I suggest you change over. Dan seems to be losing it. Not only is he flubbing his delivery, which can't be charged to fatigue since he's been doing it all night, but he is throwing out all these bits of Southern colloquia like candy. I shit you not, I have heard:

"Bingo" - (numerous times)
"Are your fingernails sweating?" - have to admit to never hearing that one before
"Go pop a cold one" - hahaha

There are numerous others that don't come to mind just now, but it is hilarious and I hope to see it again. I think he is truly upset about the election results.

I am listening to 'My City Was Gone' by the Pretenders right now, and what an amazingly appropriate song it is at the moment.

I just had a really good time watching Dan fumble over refusing to call Ohio for Bush.

So much for dispassionate reporting. The look of distress he has is SOMETHING.

I'm reminded of the chapter in Bernie Goldberg's Bias where he talks about the surprise expressed by the media over the 2000 Bush Victory ... "but nobody I know voted for him!" which Goldberg used as an illustration of the concentration of liberals in the media.

wolf, I hope you are available to explain to Catwoman, jaguar, DanaC and all the other oh-so-interested Brits how it came about that war-mongering, baby-killing, tie-the-virgin-down-on-the-railroad-trax Bush came to be re-elected. Catwoman seems to think the "rest of the world" will see us that way if bush is re-elected. don't you worry about her and jag's opinion? After all, they are giving "a shit" as it effects them so. We rule the world they say.

Now slow down, Brianna, 'cause I love you too, but calling Bush a tie-the-virgin-down-on-the-railroad-trax killer is unfair. "War-mongering, baby-killing" - sure, fair enough. But I don't like this misinformation spread around. It is his wife Laura Bush who killed her friend.

Don't get too excited, Bri. I love everybody.

I say "Thank you, Sir!" to cops who have pulled me over.

For the last couple of years, the IRS has received a sample of my personal 'love juice' enclosed with my tax return.

If you don't get the picture, I can always post one. And you know I will.
