12/6/2004: Dutch say this breast image is illegal

This is as close as IotD gets to porn...

Dutch actress Georgina Verbaan is apparently this month's Playboy cover. She was so pestered by speculation that her chest was fake that she decided to put this x-ray image up on her site as proof they're natural.

That alone would be enough to make IotD, but the interesting turn makes it even better. Dutch ultrasound and radiotherapy association NVMBR says it's illegal in their country to use Xray technology without a valid medical reason and that the image is illegal.

"Association president Fred Felderhof said the regulations governing the use of x-rays was laid out in Dutch law.

He said Verbaan could have used less extreme methods, such as ultrasound, to prove her breasts were natural.

The NVMBR now fears a rise in the applications for unnecessary tests by other women wanting to prove their boobs are real."

Ah I see...I thought maybe this was the work of the new conservative America:

"Oh my goodness! An ultrasound..of...of...a breast, of all things! Deem it illegal right way!!!!! My holier-than-thou children may see it and want to have unprotected sex for God's sake!!!"

Hey, it could happen...

I can almost kinda see this one. They're not saying the image is immoral but that x-rays are not to be used lightly. And they're right, because x-rays are dangerous. I can't imagine what situation led to the creation of a law to protect you from such an act, though.

After extensive research I can truly see why such a controversy could have arisen.

Those thing ballooned in size. Wow...

Yes...they help prevent many grievous injuries caused by nail files and scissors.

Well if a radiologist reviews them, they might find lumps and save someone's life. Not the resolution of a mammogram but xrays have found lumps before.

Who paid for the image? Georgina, Playboy, or the Dutch government?

If they have that many women wanting to verify the lack of enhancement, and the law forbids x-ray mammograms. Then, I see a business opportunity for a manual checking service which I would staff personally.

Before and after comparison...

Before...After...

It's amazing what post pubescence and oral contraceptives can do for you.

Drop the s from the image's address if you want the full size image for further study.
