Crash!

There was a serious accident at the entrance to our little cul-de-sac last night. It actually made the <a href="http://abclocal.go.com/ktrk/news/060905_local_accident.html">local news</a>, but probably only because there was a news team in the area for an <a href="http://www.chron.com/cs/CDA/ssistory.mpl/metropolitan/3217904">unrelated police shooting</a>. Except, I got better pictures.

This happened less than 200 yards from plthijnx's and my house, but I didn't hear a thing until the emergency crews showed up with sirens and helicopters.

This is the scene I first came upon:

Houston's finest at work, notice the Jaws of Life equipment:

Dude hit a fire hydrant and flipped the car:

On the stretcher, they life flighted the guy out:

The guy surrounded by police was being questioned but they didn't cuff him, so I assume he wasn't the driver:

I couldn't even tell what kind of car it was:

There was shit scattered everywhere:

A panoramic view:

I hope this guy's shirt was removed by the paramedics, and not the street:

At first I thought this door came off in the rollover, but it turns out it was done with the Jaws of Life. Notice how cleanly it came off, like they're trying to save the deductible:

When I took this picture it was so dark I thought it was part of the car, but no:

<img src="http://www.myrefrigerator.com/Crash/Crash11.jpg">

Someone's shoe landed 40 feet away from the car. Holy shit:

<img src="http://www.myrefrigerator.com/Crash/Crash12.jpg">

This kind of says it all, if only the arrow wasn't pointing the wrong way:

I didn't even hear the sirens, but seeing the pictures, i give him a 7.5 and the .5 is for distance!

Is it sad that I looked at the "not a part of the car" and thought, "Hmm. Looks like a Lexmark printer ..."

Nice composition on the one with the sign.

what is it then?

That thing that is not part of the car...

It looks like aprinter to me too.

Maybe he was trying to print something and not watching the road.

I think the car is either a Grand Prix or a Grand Am. I get them confused.

I liked this picture the best. You get the flipped car, the guy on the stretcher behind it, and the fire truck in back.
