his number represents just a few of the many
soldiers who chose to join. They also
chose to die.

They were not drafted. Here are a couple key points to remember:

1.) At no point has any soldier ever "defended" our right to free speech, nor have they "defended" our way of life. In fact, we would be better off, as a country, if
we tended to our own affairs instead of supposedly defending other countries who will never be in a position to pay us back.

2.) Because they chose to join, and were not drafted, sympathy and tribute is moot.
